Samuel Jasper Boyd, better known as Sam, a dedicated husband and loyal friend, passed away on Friday April 10th. Sam was born on January 22, 1938, in Craven County NC, to Samuel T. Boyd and Lula Boyd (who both preceded him in death) Sam was known for his warm smile and calming spirit. Sam was a jack of all trades.

Sam started working at Flanders Filters as a foreman. He then drove a truck for a gas company. Sam worked for Beaufort County Schools for 30 years. He was a custodian and bus driver. While he worked for Beaufort County Schools, Sam continued to impart his wisdom to whomever he met. Sam always liked a well-manicured yard and worked tirelessly in his own yard and cut many others.

A devout Jehovah's Witness disciple until his health declined, he sought out ways to teach others about Jehovah. Sam had many roles within the kingdom Hall. Family was always important to Sam. He is survived by his dedicated and loyal wife Dorothy Boyd, who has traveled this thing called life with him.

Sam leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Dorothy Boyd; his children Samuel Boyd (Ella), Alphonzo Boyd who preceded him in death, Robert (Stoney) (Ann) William Boyd (Gloria), Claudia Woolard, Earline Windley-Wiggins (Michael) Gina Staton, and Jerry Windley as well as a host of nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service to celebrate Samuel Jasper Boyd's life will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall located at 1732 N. Market Street in Washington NC. Family and friends are invited to gather and remember the remarkable life of Samuel Boyd.

Samuel Jasper Boyd will be missed greatly but forever cherished in the memories of those who knew and loved him.

Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington is honored to serve the Boyd family.
