Jesse Alton Tripp | Eastern NC Now

    Mr. Jesse Alton Tripp, age 91, of Blounts Creek passed away at home on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

    Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory and will be officiated by Pastor Joel Cannon. Burial will follow at Warren Memorial Cemetery, Blounts Creek with interment led by Pastor David Green. The family will receive friends following the service at Warren Chapel.

    Mr. Tripp was born in Blounts Creek on January 8, 1935, to the late Errol Montague Tripp and the late Minnie Rowe Tripp. He was a 1953 Graduate of Aurora High School. He was married for 10 years to Patricia Fleming Tripp who preceded him in death and subsequently to Juanita Manger Tripp for 45 years who also preceded him in death. He leaves behind two daughters, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Alaska. He was the Postmaster of the Blounts Creek Post Office for 34 years before retiring in 1996. Mr. Tripp was an active and beloved member of Warren Chapel Methodist Church. He was gifted with exceptional mechanical abilities and loved to tinker on everything but especially enjoyed restoring antique engines. He fiercely loved his family, church, and community.

    Those who will continue to treasure his memory include his children Jessica Tripp Vermilyea and Maria Tripp Dunn (Carl); his grandchildren Ryan Vermilyea Rasmussen (Erik), Kelsie Vermilyea Salles (Jordan), Adam Dunn, Tripp Dunn, and Kaelynn Dunn; his great-grandchildren Macie Salles, Hayden Salles, Graham Salles, Elsy Rasmussen, and Emmy Rasmussen. He is also survived by his sister Sina Woolard (Joe Corbett) and numerous extended family members in North Carolina and Ohio.

    Also preceding him in death are his brothers David Tripp, Sr. and Curtis Rabon Tripp.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Warren Chapel Methodist Church, Post Office Box 197, Blounts Creek, NC 27814.
