Federal crackdown looming on dark money political organizations | Eastern NC Now

Cngress, Justice Department, IRS all involved

ENCNow

"Dark money" groups who hide their funding have become big players in American politics, especially on the left.  Most are leftwing ideologically, but some represent other special interests.  Some are affiliated with people like Soros and Singham, but others even more anonymous.  Now a reckoning is coming for them as a multi-prong federal investigation ramps up.

The issue came to a head with the anti-ICE riots and demonstrations.  Much of their funding came through the Neville Singham network.  Singham is a US citizen billionaire who is a Communist Chinese sympathizer and now lives in Red China.  There is a question as to how much of the money distributed by Singham may actually come from the Chinese government.

One prong of the investigation involves Congressional committees which are subpoenaing records from some of the dark money"non-profits."  The other prong involves federal agencies including the IRS and the Justice Department.  The crackdown should both shine a light on their shady activities, and hopefully shut some of them down.

Of course, we have dark money problems in state politics, too.  It was $700,000 in special interest dark money that bought our 79th district NC House seat in the primary for the "RoundUp RINO" Darren armstrong.
