    Philip B. Elks, 73, of Chocowinity, NC passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

    Philip was born to the late Roy Lee Elks and Reatha Paramore Elks, on January 19, 1953. He dedicated his entire career to the tractor industry, where his work ethic and expertise were highly respected. Outside of work, Philip's true passion was building and racing hot rod cars, a hobby that fueled his adventurous spirit and love for mechanics.

    Philip was affectionately nicknamed "Crazy Uncle Phil" by his nieces and nephews. He earned the title through his endless knack for making everyone laugh and ensuring that any gathering was a good time. His humor and warmth will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

    Philip was a loving father to Stephanie Elks Clark who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and twin siblings, Tessie Hudson and Jessie Elks.

    Philip is survived by his granddaughter, Brittany Cannon, and his great-granddaughter, Tara Lumia. He also leaves behind his sister, Mary Woolard (Carlos), his brother, Eugene Elks (Maxilyn), and a large, loving family of nieces and nephews, and close friends.
