As usual, you are pedaling the climate cult's snake oil, Little Bobbie. The Medieval Warm Period was not 40 million years ago, but just a few hundred years ago, and the Holocene Maximum was only a few thousand years ago. Those warm periods, lasting centuries, were interspersed with cold periods, the most recent of which, known as the Little Ice Age or the Maunder Minimum just ended in the 19th century. The Earth has been in a natural warming cycle since then.

CO2 is a minor greenhouse gas. The most important greenhouse gas is water vapor, which accounts for 90% of the greenhouse effect. Without the greenhouse effect, the Earth would be a cold dead planet. It is the greenhouse effect that keeps the Earth warm enough to support life.

Climate records from the ice core samples drilled in the artic and antarctic show that build ups of CO2 in the atmosphere do not precede warming of the climate, they follow it by a hundred years ago. That shows to any rational person that more CO2 is not the cause of the warming but the result of it.

You have it backward on who is being voted out, Little Bobbie. The voters are turning against the CO2 climate cult. It happened this year in the Czech Republic where one of the top issues used by new prime minister Babis was opposition to the EU Green Deal, which he called "Green madness". His junior coalition partner, the new Motorists for Themselves party won seats for the first time with its main issue being opposition to EU climate policies.

Then one needs to look at polling for the next elections across Europe. In the UK, polls have been consistently showing the Reform Party led by Brexit hero Nigel Farage with a wide lead that will give it a substantial majority in the next parliament. One of their key issues is opposition to Labour's Net Zero CO2 policy which they call "Net Stupid". Then there is France, where polls are showing consistently that the National Rally, which opposes EU climate policies with a wide lead for the first round in next year's presidential election and clearly beating anyone who comes in second place in the runoff. In Poland, voters just elected a conservative president who is pushing for a citizen referendum to have Poland reject the EU Green Deal, and polls show three parties of the right -the Law and Justice Party, Confederation Liberty and Independence, and Confederation of the Polish Crown - which oppose EU climate policies with a lock on control of the next parliament. In Germany, the Altenariv fur Deutschland leads in all the national polls, and is on the brink of winning outright control of the two states that vote in September in state elections. AfD opposes EU climate policies.

Or one could look at Australia, where recent polls give the lead to the One Nation Party, which only got 3% in last year's election. One Nation also just won a special election for what had long been a Liberal Party safe seat in the national parliament. This came after One Nation added strident opposition to the Labor government's climate policies to its traditional key issue of opposition to illegal immigration. One Nation has now pulled ahead of Labor as well as of the traditional parties of the right.

On how fighting the climate kooks works in politics, one only has to look at Canada's largest population province, Ontario. Its former Liberal government was all-in on wind and solar, in spite of many citizens and local governments not wanting it in their backyards. The newly minted Conservative leader Doug Ford made opposition to wind and solar the centerpiece of his campaign, and flipped a 2 to 1 Liberal majority to a 10 to 1 Conservative majority on that issue. His new government's first act was to cancel all wind and solar projects that were in the pipeline, and then they repealed the Green Energy Act. Ford has gone on to win two more landslide elections since.

The globalists have been trying to politicize the natural multi-century climate cycles that Earth has gone through since it has existed. The last natural warm cycle, the Medieval Warm Period was a time of prosperity, not disaster, and this current natural warm cycle will be as well.

It is SUMMER, Little Bobbie. Summer is the hot part of the annual climate cycle. Haven't you figured that out yet? Don't be surprised when it is COLD in January. Then there is the multi-year El Nino / La Nina climate cycle, in which there are sometimes Super El Ninos, one of which we are currently in. El Nino / La Nina cycles impact both temperature and precipitation.

On top of that are the multi-century climate cycles, alternating warming cycles and cooling cycles. The Earth came out of the last cooling cycles, a paricularly cold one known as the Little Ice Age in the 1800s and is now in a natural warming cycle. We are not yet as hot as it was in the last warming cycle, the Medieval Warm Period, and a long, long way short of how hot it got in the hottest of the warming cycles, the Holocene Maximum.

So, don't get your panties in a twist, Little Bobbie. It is all natural, and it has been happening since the Earth has been here.

Photo voter ID for voting is the law nationally in EVERY developed country EXCEPT the Untied States. In NONE of those countries has it turned into a sinister digital ID The argument that it might is just a conspiracy theory.

The problem is that we have too many fake voters on the rolls, especially illegal aliens. But it is not limited to that. The loosey goosey registration standards imposed by the Democrats have led to all sorts of abuses, like the California woman arrested for registering her dog to vote and actually coting the dog, then bragging about it on Facebook or the Pakistani man who had never even been to the United States also registered to vote and actually voting by mail in California.

Most countries also have a proof of citizenship requirement to register to vote. The US is an outlier in not having one yet. With the flood of illegal aliens in our country, we badly need one.

JV, that plan of organization covers the internal operating procedures of the party, not its positions on the issues. That would be in the platform.

The hiccup in party support has mainly involved the consequences of the Iran war, but that seems to now be in the rear view mirror. Polling on the resolution of the war has been significantly positive for Trump and Republicans.

Aside from the temporary financial consequences of the war, polling indicates that the GOP message hits what the public wants on key issues. Immigration is a huge issue, and the GOP is in tune with the solid majority there, while the Democrats play to a radical minority. The issues the Democrats push from climate alarmism to putting men into womens sports and in womens bathrooms and locker rooms, the public is with the GOP and /or it is a low priority issue with the public.

What is telling is that the populist and nationalist brand of conservatism is riding high throughout the developed world. That philosophy includes 1) pride in national identity, 2) opposition to globalism, 3) opposition to mass migration, and 4) opposition to the climate scam. This could be described as MAGA for other countries, and polls show parties advocating it leading in the polls in countries such as Australlia, the UK, France, and Germany. The demographics for the supporters of those parties is also telling, being the younger voters much more than the older ones.

Reports on violation of the Open Meetings Act in hiring the city manager behind closed doors and not making the official motion in open session is a big concern. While most elected officials attend seminars that instruct them on the Open Meetings Law, they should also have their own attorney for the body present to tell them that th3ey just cannot do it that way.

No one has come forward to contend that this action was taken in open session, so one must asssume that the reports are accurate.

But this is not the first occurrence of such a matter. When the outgoing city council met and voted on the golden parachute for the outgoing city manager, which was at huge expense to the taspayer, there was also no motion made in open session on those matters as required by the open meetings law. Where was the city attorney when that was done? In addition, the law does not allow a lame duck government body after an election and before its new members are sworn in to take personnel actions of that sort. Our new council should be trying to claw back that golden parachute, because it was not done in compliance with NC law. Perhaps the council members who voted to throw away that taxpayer money could be personally liable for it.

Not following the Open Meetings Law and other NC law seems to be a significant problem with our city council. Washington deserves better.

Instead of a bureaucrat, if we want to clean up the mess in Washington, it would have been much better to bring in someone with private sector management experience. If they insisted on government management experience, then Virginia state government would have been a good place to look as there are certain to be lots of Youngkin administration officials being shown the door by the incoming radical Spanberger crowd.

What we need is a conservative team on the county commission that will 1) elect Republican leadership instead of a coalition with liberal Democrats, and 2) reduce our taxes. We have to elect two commissioners we can depend on this year if we are to do that. Since Edwards has Rebholz as his mentor, he is the one I trust least among the Republicans. Deatherage and Woolard are the two that can make it happen, and we do not need silly personality fights.

Remember, voters are much more concerned about actual issues than they are about internal workings of the Republican Party.

Because of the shacky limited voting system where all candidates are still running against each other in November, there is very little the party organization can do in the election, but conservative voters will have to make the choice in a way that gets us out from under the situation that has left Democrats calling the shots on a 5 to 2 "Republican" commission.

Stan, with Travis' support and some hard work, I think you are well positioned for the general election. Your record of never voting for a tax increase should also resonate with voters this year.

While party organizations have traditionally worked to turn out voters in a general election, as the local GOP did in the last city election, that is rarely done in primaries. However with Democrats being pushed to temporarily register Unaffiliated to interfere in Republican primaries, it may not be a bad idea for party organizations to take a harder look at turning out registered Republicans in Republican primaries. Of course, the best bet would be to close our primaries altogether.
