If you read the linked article, she has also called for a terrorist attack on American soil and suggested Louisiana or Mississippi as where she thought it should occur. What has happened over the past 6 or 7 decades is that the political spectrum has galloped to the left. What was a moderate position in the 1960s is now a conservative position. What is a left position today is very far to the left of what one would have been 6 or 7 decades ago. That makes the left today the extremists, and they keep getting even more extreme, as the DSA illustrates.

A good example is a campaign ad from former GOP US Senator Scott Brown (R-Massachusetts) about a decade ago. It showed John Kennedy starting an actual speech JFK gave on issues and Brown finishing it, illustrating that Brown's positions on issues were the same as JFK's had been. Another is a Republican US Senator this year introducing the exact anti-immigration bill that Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) had inteoduced decades ago.

Democrats have move to the hard left to the point that the DSA chairman's comment that their goal is communism does not even phase them. Republicans now occupy the political ground that John F. Kennedy and other Democrats like him once occupied and the left now calls that "fascist".

Will, you need a lot more study of American politics.

Washingtonian, I am not aware of the "smart meter" issue ever coming before the General Assembly or how Washington's nutty drive to install them would come before that body. As far as influencing the city council, Kidwell is now a lame duck where his influence is gone. As to Armstrong, his campaign showed he was pretty clueless on issues outside farming, and that situation is unlikely to improve. It is not credible to think he would be one of the handful of "read every bill" legislators. Hundreds of thousands of dollars of special interest money have bought our district for the "RoundUP RINO".

Other studies have documented how illegal immigration has increased the cost of medical care and of various types of insurance including medical insurance and auto insurance.

The war in Iran ran up petroleum prices, but they have come down a good bit. The problem now is the price of refined petroleum - gas and diesel. Part of that is the world market, impacted by Ukraine's destruction of Russian oil refineries and oil export terminals, resulting in Russia halting its export of refined products to preserve them for a strained local market, The market in the US for refined petroleum products like gas and diesel is also strained by California's asinine environmental policies that have caused two of their refineries to close and two more to switch to biodiesel instead of petroleum products. Now, instead of California being self sufficient to meet their own needs for gas and diesel, they have to import almost half of their needs. Originally, that was coming from Asia. Now it mostly comes from Texas, which strains the supply of refined petroleum products to the rest of the country, causing higher prices.

Traditional mechanical electric and water meters are very robust. They usually last decades, and very rarely have to be replaced. They are also proven to be safe. The computer assisted smart meters are not as robust. They break easier and sooner, but they cost more. Some of them have also been shown to be bigger fire risks.

Why should utility customers be gouged to pay for replacing meters that have no need to be replaced, which will not last as long and may be fire hazards? This is insanity and a financial boondoggle.

It has been said that a previous regime bought these meters and has had them in a warehouse. If so, it is far better to just sell them to someone else to put the money in the budget. Instead they want to spend money to take out perfectly good meters and replace them with these new meters. That is VERY VERY wasteful spending.

These meters should also never be crammed down the throat of any utility customer. If the customer has a working meter and does not want one of these things, they should be able to just say NO.

Buzz, the first step is already being taken to jail Fauci. Senator Rand Paul is calling a vote to hold him in contempt of Congress for his refusal to answer questions. To try to get out of that, Fauci is going to have to assert that his Biden autopen pardon was invalid, because if it was valid, he cannot use the 5th amendment. Once it is determined that his Biden autopen pardon is invalid, if that occurs, then he is wide open for prosecution on his previous perjury before Congress.

What is interesting is how they got Fauci's diary. The fool entered all of that material on government computers, but then deleted it when he left office. That made all of the content government property. DHHS Secretary Robert Kennedy, Jr. put together a computer team to recover it and they were able to do so. Now, Fauci is hoist on his own petard.

The Medieval Warm Period was not 40 million years ago, but just a few hundred years ago, and the Holocene Maximum was only a few thousand years ago. Those warm periods, lasting centuries, were interspersed with cold periods, the most recent of which, known as the Little Ice Age or the Maunder Minimum just ended in the 19th century. The Earth has been in a natural warming cycle since then.

CO2 is a minor greenhouse gas. The most important greenhouse gas is water vapor, which accounts for 90% of the greenhouse effect. Without the greenhouse effect, the Earth would be a cold dead planet. It is the greenhouse effect that keeps the Earth warm enough to support life.

Climate records from the ice core samples drilled in the artic and antarctic show that build ups of CO2 in the atmosphere do not precede warming of the climate, they follow it by a hundred years ago. That shows to any rational person that more CO2 is not the cause of the warming but the result of it.

You have it backward on who is being voted out, Little Bobbie. The voters are turning against the CO2 climate cult. It happened this year in the Czech Republic where one of the top issues used by new prime minister Babis was opposition to the EU Green Deal, which he called "Green madness". His junior coalition partner, the new Motorists for Themselves party won seats for the first time with its main issue being opposition to EU climate policies.

Then one needs to look at polling for the next elections across Europe. In the UK, polls have been consistently showing the Reform Party led by Brexit hero Nigel Farage with a wide lead that will give it a substantial majority in the next parliament. One of their key issues is opposition to Labour's Net Zero CO2 policy which they call "Net Stupid". Then there is France, where polls are showing consistently that the National Rally, which opposes EU climate policies with a wide lead for the first round in next year's presidential election and clearly beating anyone who comes in second place in the runoff. In Poland, voters just elected a conservative president who is pushing for a citizen referendum to have Poland reject the EU Green Deal, and polls show three parties of the right -the Law and Justice Party, Confederation Liberty and Independence, and Confederation of the Polish Crown - which oppose EU climate policies with a lock on control of the next parliament. In Germany, the Altenariv fur Deutschland leads in all the national polls, and is on the brink of winning outright control of the two states that vote in September in state elections. AfD opposes EU climate policies.

Or one could look at Australia, where recent polls give the lead to the One Nation Party, which only got 3% in last year's election. One Nation also just won a special election for what had long been a Liberal Party safe seat in the national parliament. This came after One Nation added strident opposition to the Labor government's climate policies to its traditional key issue of opposition to illegal immigration. One Nation has now pulled ahead of Labor as well as of the traditional parties of the right.

On how fighting the climate kooks works in politics, one only has to look at Canada's largest population province, Ontario. Its former Liberal government was all-in on wind and solar, in spite of many citizens and local governments not wanting it in their backyards. The newly minted Conservative leader Doug Ford made opposition to wind and solar the centerpiece of his campaign, and flipped a 2 to 1 Liberal majority to a 10 to 1 Conservative majority on that issue. His new government's first act was to cancel all wind and solar projects that were in the pipeline, and then they repealed the Green Energy Act. Ford has gone on to win two more landslide elections since.

The globalists have been trying to politicize the natural multi-century climate cycles that Earth has gone through since it has existed. The last natural warm cycle, the Medieval Warm Period was a time of prosperity, not disaster, and this current natural warm cycle will be as well.

It is SUMMER, Little Bobbie. Summer is the hot part of the annual climate cycle. Haven't you figured that out yet? Don't be surprised when it is COLD in January. Then there is the multi-year El Nino / La Nina climate cycle, in which there are sometimes Super El Ninos, one of which we are currently in. El Nino / La Nina cycles impact both temperature and precipitation.

On top of that are the multi-century climate cycles, alternating warming cycles and cooling cycles. The Earth came out of the last cooling cycles, a paricularly cold one known as the Little Ice Age in the 1800s and is now in a natural warming cycle. We are not yet as hot as it was in the last warming cycle, the Medieval Warm Period, and a long, long way short of how hot it got in the hottest of the warming cycles, the Holocene Maximum.

So, don't get your panties in a twist, Little Bobbie. It is all natural, and it has been happening since the Earth has been here.
