FRAUD is a false representation abt a material fact. Its any intentional deception designed to unlawfully deprive th USA/EPA/CSB of somethin of value or to secure 4 an individual a benefit, privilege, allowance or consideration tht he's not entitled. WASTE involves taxpayers not receivin a reasonable value for $$ in connection w a govt-funded activity due to an inappropriate act/omission. Most waste does not involve a violation of law.Its primarily due to mismanagemnt, inappropriate actions & inadequate oversight. ABUSE involves behavior thats deficient/improper when compared w behavior tht a prudent person would consider reasonable&necessary business practice given facts&circumstances. It also includes misuse of authority 4personal financial interests or those of a close relative/associate.Abuse doesnt always involve a crime. If a person has to hire an expensive attorney to enforce one's rights, then basically, as I said, We have no rights. Its like the bully on the playground who says "make me." The smaller one cant! Every bully Govt knows this. If you try to make that bully govt see you, it will find ways to get revenge. Just as they maligned Trump, they might label a citizen in a small town, a grumbling "troublemaker." The word gets around in all circles. Hopefully with the new Voter ID requirement, a handful of cheaters cant change an entire election result.

Stan, X formerly known as Twitter has an AI program called Grok.
I have used it and so far so good. I've heard it said, that we can help teach an AI program by debating with it, rather than just accepting what it says and moving on. Did you hear about the guy that developed such a relationship with his A.I. program that he fell in love with it, and asked it to marry him. I think I heard that it told him it was flattered. LOL

Commented on What does it mean to be a Conservative?Stan, Regarding buying back the closed schools.
I understand that there is a govt system of rules regarding ownership of real estate such as the schools. Its just that it suddenly dawned on me that it all seemed rather rigged against the taxpayers. We taxpayers of Beaufort County, give the money to the school system to build and then own that school property. Then, if they close the school down, the school system doesnt just give it back to the taxpayers of Beaufort County who funded the whole thing in the first place, instead we taxpayers have to buy back... the school we paid for in the first place. (If the Commissioners choose to make that decision.) Yes I know the taxpayers dont own it, but we are always Paying for it. Both coming and going. What a world! P.S. Mama's dont let your babies grow-up and buy homes inside any city.

Do u hav a memory of th last time we had ppl on "governing boards who will assert th powers those boards possess to keep th bureaucracy in line." I recall (approximately) a few decades back when we elected a man professing to be a Republican to the County Commissioners. Turned out he wasnt! The joke became "Dont be a Mickey." Its not easy being conservative. Human nature is to want to Help the needy. The trick is to be strict about using the Govt's money to be overly helpful. What I've noticed is that the Democrats are generous with OTHER People's Money. They dont donate their own money to causes, and charities. What kinds of things are just cause to be fired? Have we seen the contract that the city signed with its manager? On buying th Snowden school... Didnt we taxpayers already buy it th 1st time? Why should we hav to buy it again? Good Grief Fritz! In this post, You are still advocating for the Govt to give select people a Free House. The Govt creating winners and losers is socialism too. Seeing your Progressive ideas, you might just get elected...as a DEMOCRAT! When you and the City Manager get together with your shared dreams to make Washington Great, you may then become each other's puppet, and of course all cabals protect their puppets, because that is their power base. And thus,in this way, the corruption continues. I just dream of the day that Govts and Bureaucracies, both local and at the NC state level Stop circling their wagons to protect themselves from inquiring citizens just seeking our natural rights. They just want WeThePpl to butt out and stop taking up their time with our ordinary needs. IMHO.

No need to be so judgemental as you admitted you are new, and dont know all there is to know, and even admitted you didnt know who my words applied to.
I am glad to see I at least made you see that if you want to represent us, you should try walking in others people's shoes. But in my humble opinion, you have a lot to learn. Who your heroes are says a lot about who you are. And your defensiveness says your skin is not as tough as you wish it was. As I said to Stan, Hood trusted the words of a couple of people, and so helped get them elected, and then their deeds showed who they really were. After the election, its too late.

Commented on Washington DreamingStan,
What's conservative about wanting the city to give a select category of people a free house? Stan would you vote for this? I think it would be beneficial to the local citizens if you would take some time and define for us in detail what it means to be a Conservative Republican. It appears that we all need a definition since even Hood admits that he actively supported a couple of people for School Board only to find out that they werent conservative. Dems are clever at deceit. Republicans are truly the compassionate ones, because we foolishly want to believe the best of everyone, especially those we like, and who we often see within our own bubble. Please, in detail define a conservative for me. Thanks.

They say a community gets the Govt they deserve.
We local people must really suck, because our local govts sure do. As long as people continue to vote for the politician, simply because he/she goes to your church or knows you by your first name then the same old useless politicians will remain as our Govt. Whats the problem? Is the community so small and lacking in talent that people would rather have the devil they know, rather than the devil they dont? Think like Trump said: Try something different. What have you got to lose? If your politicians cant bother to call you back or reply to your emails, then you dont need him. If he takes you for granted, and is blind to the ppls anguish, then let him/her be invisible to you. If your politician hasnt done something actually physical for the community, then kick them to the curb. We dont need No Kings!

M.W., What do you mean neighbors shooting next year's deer?
Are u referring to hunting inside the City limits? It is illegal to shoot a gun inside the City limits, at least in Washington, but people do it all the time. They think that because "hunting" inside the City is not against any ordinances, it means they can hunt with a gun. U cant shoot a gun, so that means you cant bag a turkey or a deer with a gun. I wish the City councils would make it clear to these ignorant and lawless people that its illegal, and to stop it totally. WAshington has a lot of forest areas right here just a mile or so from the center of Washington, but the police wont go into those forested areas to find the person shooting the gun, so lawlessness continues. Rules were created so that citizens know acceptable behavior, but when SOME can violate zoning laws and city laws, anarchy like we see in Los Angeles can develop.

When I did a search for NCWRC Action Plan, I got this:
"This document provides info abt th agency initiatives for th next 2yrs: emphasizing diversity, equity, inclusion,& accessibility in our public-facing & internal operations, internal capacity building through needed updates in our information technology & data management systems & continuing to mainstream evidence-based decision-making into all agency divisions & programs." About the ppl w the ability to take our $$ & spend our $$:
There are men who are like women, in that they are not satisfied to let things just be. AS a woman I know how it is to feel the urge to change the furniture around, buy new Things, remodel the kitchen...replace perfectly good windows ;-) The men seem to always have the urge to make new unneeded regulations & laws, rearrange 15th street instead of 5th street, build a new school, consolidate a school... Depending on the title of your job determines what you think needs changing. I have found that there are lots of things i dont need, I just Want. I have found that some new things just make more work for myself or causes me to spend more money maintaining the new things I wanted. Or, a new law requires additional laws to clarify that new law. It goes on & on. Yes, fix whats broken, but sometimes fixing what isnt broken, breaks it. Its a fact: Except for H & S, Top talent does not reside n local Govt.

When we see that even Judges hav become lawless, we know that th USA is about to become an authoritarian nation. When pple cant be trusted to "police" themselves, then many laws must b written to clarity right & wrong. When Americans were seen as a moral people, freedom was easy. The USA didnt need a lot of petty laws to control us. But the pendulum has swung, we are no longer in that world.
Our local Govt officials dont give a damn about WeThePpl, they are out to protect themselves & do as their boss dictates. Something to consider:
Unlike many school systems, the San Antonio TX area's 19 school districts function as separate, independent entities. Each has its own superintendent, its own elected board of education, and its own taxing authority. It covers an area of 466.7 square miles. I'm stressing the square mile factor, not the population factor. Beaufort County has 3 school district with ONE superintendent covering an area of 962.8 square miles. Shouldn't Beaufort County have more than one Superintendent? Lastly wouldn't a local citizen who is educated, make a more qualified superintendent than someone who ISN'T local? Cheaper too. P.S. I'm still waiting to learn if Gary intends to "fight" for the public records he requested a year ago.

No, no, no. The School Board does believe that the Superintendent and staff work for them. They believe that Cheeseman and his staff do all the working and thinking... so that they dont have to do any working or thinking.
Basically, I was told this years ago when a school board member said: "Look Washingtonian, we Board members have jobs, and family, and a life, and that's why we have a staff to do this for us." Sooo yeah, they think the employees do work for them. LOL Easy life being on the School Board.
