Berger was prostituting for the special interests connected to communist China in trying to destroy our local shrimp harvesting industry. They are the major competitor of North Carolina shrimpers. The "County Compass" just identified a major importer of frozen Chinese shrimp that is massively expanding their Norfolk, VA importation facilities focused on shrimp. This is who expects to get the shrimp business when they shut down our local shrimpers. They likely provided the dirty political payola to the thoroughly corrupp Phil Berger to push this dirty political attack on North Carolina commercial fishermen.

If you have Optimum cable TV, ch 35 is a Greenville Utilities sponsorship of announcements and area weather forecasts. They tell us that Gville is building a solar farm and citizens can adopt solar panels. There are some up front fees... I think $35 each, and some monthly fees. But when all is said and done the monthly ongoing cost to you is abt $5 per panel u adopt. They joyfully try to sell it to the woke, who they say can enjoy participating in solar energy programs to save the planet. I cant believe they are doing this with a straight face. I wonder how many virtue-signalers sign up to send the electric company an extra $5 a month.

On the optimistic side, I am seeing a sea change in politics /government. The "Bully Government" is beginning to lose, and will continue to lose as more of US can gain and hold office. Think about how much more taxes would have to be raised to increase the ad valorem tax revenue by 1.8 million. That's not minor. I agree with everyone up here that the taxes are outrageous, the admin charge from enterprise funds is insane, and storm water fees, trash pickup fees, and other charges can be a way to "tax" the property owner more. But not all governmental revenues are taxes.
