Tillis makes North Carolina look like a bunch of good old southern boys that don't know what they are doing. Some politicians, like baby diapers, need to be changed often. And for the same reason.

Tillis said he agreed with Padilla on some of Padilla's rants at that press conference, but did not say which ones. ALL of Padilla's rants were open borders crap. So what part of Padilla's open borders crap does Tillis say he agrees with?

Tillis is an amnesty whore and needs to be defeated.

BC Citizen: You do know this is a revaluation year. Raising taxes to provide the very limited services, which is the City of Washington's charge, is no excuse for any sorry government that cannot manage itself ... for so long of a time now ...decades.

Maybe with the 11.5 cent tax increase the City of Washington passed in their budget will allow for some of this growth.

Giving the Army a grand 250th birthday celebration was the right move. It is important to remind the people of this nation (99% who have not served themselves since the creation of the all volunteer military) what it takes to give us the freedoms we enjoy. This is more important given all of the things happening with China, Iran, Russia, North Korea and more. Hegseth served low enough in the ranks not to be corrupted by the bureaucratic and political issues that have been detrimental to the military over the past 20-30 years. His leadership and vision to bring back the focus on lethality and the warrior ethos within our armed forces is vital and necessary. The sharp increase in recruitment since Trump was reelected is a clear demonstration that the people who serve and protect America, many who come from multiple generations of veterans, didnt agree with the Biden/Obama eras of DEI and mismanagement in DoD.

Our nation was founded because the people were tired of being overtaxed. The series of taxes that led to the Revolution were adopted by the British parliament, but since George III was the face of the British government, he was the target of people's anger. He certainly did not object to those taxes, so that was justified.

The Democrats of today tax us more than the British parliament did in those days, so it is the Democrats who are the modern tax tyrants.

Pete Hegseth is national treasure. I loved him as a natural morning host on FOX News; he is doing an even better, more complete job as Secretary of Defense.

Wasn't our nation started because We the People opposed an actual King? Were we not opposed to taxation without representation? Did we not fight back when those who would oppress us came for our firearms, the AR-15s of the day, at Lexington and Concord? Don't our founding documents lay out a limited federal government so that the sovereign states could represent their people according to what they believed best? People shouldn't fear their government, governments should fear their people. They do work for us after all, not the other way around. Its sad to many people don't realize this or remember it. Its a travesty the bureaucrats and seemingly more often the judiciary don't understand this either.

Nick,

First, thanks for the comment, a rarity of the scarcist kind. Speaking of kind, your comment was well received, and when I read this great kindness within your commentary to my long suffering wife, she kind of teared up a bit due the fact that all grades of incredible mendacity hurled toward me and my family over the years, as I am the first Conservative elected in the history of Beaufort County, in 1994, at least one with an R by his name.

Oh, the stories I could have been told, and probably will at some point ... when the time is most appropriate, when the effect is most absolute due to the fact that here NOW - "The times, they are a a-changin'" - www.youtube.com

Thank-you again, and the feeling is mutual in that I admire your incredible energy to know, and the humility to learn all there is to know. That strength of yours is, including your stellar work ethic, will continue to become the secret to your many successes.

Washingtonian: tone doesn't come across in these types of messages, but my tone is always one of jovial good fun. You don't know me, but I hope to get to know you. Your skepticism, doubt, and criticism are invited and appreciated. I suspect we'll be fast friends in time.

I have a great deal of confidence in my convictions, though I always try to remain open to new ideas. Is defending conviction 'defensive'? Only if I'm closed to the idea of being persuaded differently. I am not. Quite the contrary. I invite you to move me from my convictions. But I haven't formed them lightly. You've questioned my idea about housing. I'm asking you for a better solution. Do you have one Washingtonian?

Conversely, you initially commented on my green opinion of the City Manager. In my on-going quest to understand local politics, I've come across the salaries of all Beaufort County employees. The City and County Managers both make in excess of $200k per year. That's five times the median household income in this area and 4 times higher than the average County/City Managaer in the country. There's a teacher at the Montessori whose salary was $225k. Every county & city contract should be bid out regularly. When do these jobs get put out for bid? I think it's time. I cannot speak on the character of any of these people. I don't know them more than superficially. But business is business.

Stan, this is why you are so admirable. You live and breathe the ethos of conservatism but you have experienced government from the inside. Most of us can only speak about politics as observers. You speak as a player. Like all things, commenting on the game is easier than playing it... and you have played it well for many, many years. I've said it before and I'll say again, I'm very glad to have finally met someone with principles who cares about policy that's invovled in government. You're a rare breed.

Commented on Washington Dreaming

The British Conservative Party under small "c" conservative Margaret Thatcher introduced a program for occupants of "council houses" (social housing) to purchase the properties at a reduced price. That program was regarded as successful.

Taxpayers need a change from the tax-and-spend regime now running Washington. Heck, one of their councilmen actually lives in Aurora, not at the address on his voter registration. Another is functionally illiterate. The entire council are pathetic yes-men to Mauor Donald Sadler.

So Stan, would you call voting to give a select category of people a free home, (on the taxpayer's dime) conservative? Because that is exactly what Fritz wants, and then you tell me you can vouch that he is a conservative?

P.s. I asked for details, beating-around-the-bush is not convincing me you know. You can do better Stan. You are a great talker and a great writer. Sleep on it and let me know tomorrow. I want to have faith in you.

Tillis is worthless. He has been in the pocket of the wind / solar grifters since he was in the NC House, a special interest asset. He does not represent the people of North Carolina. He is also looking out for his own pocketbook because he owns a good bit of stock in a small bank in Mecklenburg County that specializes in lending to the wind and solar boondogglers.

Don Brown for US Senate in GOP primary 2026. He's one of us.

It was a total Democrat political and criminal scam. Why have Mayorkas and Harris and others not been indicted yet? That needs to happen where there are Republican oriented judges and juries like in rural Texas.

Yes Nick, it does become very complicated once an elected government official is forced into to the proverbial weeds to sort things out.

I absolutely am a free market guy until I am not: Protecting our children and our vulnerable citizens from evil as is necessary ... And pure evil does exist.

I have voted against evil creeping into our vulnerable society on many occasions, and will continue to do so, irrespective of the free market argument.

On the other hand, I well know "Waste, Fraud, and Abuse" of and within our governmental system of the People, and I will never resist taking that down as best I can, whenever I can.

Commented on Washington Dreaming

Washingtonian: With all the stupidity, corruption, and abject mendacity, I have encountered and forced to endure over these many decades in the surreal that is Beaufort County politics, and government, there MAY be a handful of people in Beaufort County that understand what constitutes "Democratic Operatives" as well as myself. I know these fools to their core, and I have an ongoing master plan to be rid of them for me, for US.

I know them at their core once they act-up after taking their seats, won by deception and fraud, and then there are the poor political wannabes that are easily vetted; that are often dissuaded from that eventual embarrassment that will be their lot.

Nick Fritz has been vetted by myself, and I pray I can keep him close after elected, and that he will continue to listen to me; not to be another Stan, but to be his own man with a shred of my hard won wisdom, and dedication to the same simple principles, as myself, collected somewhere within his governing mind and spirit.

Fritz, You sound like a Democrat operative the way you refer to me, a fellow citizen who has lived a different experience than you, as Hostile. No need to be so judgemental as you admitted you are new, and dont know all there is to know, and even admitted you didnt know who my words applied to.

I am glad to see I at least made you see that if you want to represent us, you should try walking in others people's shoes. But in my humble opinion, you have a lot to learn. Who your heroes are says a lot about who you are. And your defensiveness says your skin is not as tough as you wish it was.

As I said to Stan, Hood trusted the words of a couple of people, and so helped get them elected, and then their deeds showed who they really were. After the election, its too late.
