By woke - you mean will the curriculum tell the truth or the white euapeon fairytale. If you love your country, you can take an honest look at its past.

Elect MAGA conservatives at your own risk. They can't govern and are grievance based. They never stop complaining and it's weird.

Bath parent, there is an important issue being addressed all over the country that has nothing to do with any personalities in Beaufort County, either Richardson or Cheeseman, and that is whether public schools will have a woke curriculum or a more traditional curriculum. It is a battle between parents, who polls show that in NC 71% are concerned about political indoctrination of their chidlren in the classroom, and the woke education establishment in Raleigh. Governor Cooper has put some really far out leftists on the state school board.

As the legal staff of the General Assembly pointed out, correctly, to Representative Kidwell, county boards of education have absolute authority in choosing a curriculum and do not have to kowtow to the woke state board of education. The original draft of the new local curriculum policy recognized that right. The changes announced by Cheeseman waved a white flag to kowtow to the Raleigh education establishment. That was a big blow to local control of local schools.

Raleigh has been trying to assert too much control of local schools for decades. I remember a couple of meetings of the old Pitt-Beaufort Conservative Union back in the late 1970s, when one of our members, a conservative Democrat who was school board attorney for Pitt County told us a big part of his work for the schools was fighting off efforts by Raleigh to tell the local schools what to do when Raleigh had no legal basis to assert such control. The only thing that seems to have changed on this front is less backbone among local leaders to fight it.

There are two lawsuits pending in North Carolina against the state Board of Elections failures to do their duty. One involves failure to enforce the federal HAVA election integrity requirements that have been in force for over twenty years. All voter registrations are supposed to have either a drivers license number or if no license, then the last four of the SS number. The failure to enforce this over the years has mushroomed to the point that over 500,000 NC voter registrations do not have this federally required information, and our state Board of Elections refuses to do anything about it. The other has to do with a law passed by the General Assembly on removing foreign citizens from the voter rolls that the state Board of Elections has been deliberately dragging its feet on to get past this election.

There have also been rumblings from NC larger counties that the Democrats may be doing the same thing as in Detroit in denying Republicans a fair representation in poll watchers.

With rabidly leftwing and partisan Democrat biased outlets like ABC holding the debate, the questions to candidates should come from more neutral sources, or given how difficult to find those are in today's society, at least a balance of moderators. One solution would be two moderators, one chosen by each candidate. Another would be to use the Lincoln-DOuglas format where each candidate chose half the questions.

I was wondering about X. Seemed like a popular site so I thought I's check it out.

X is a complete cesspool. In a free country it has the right to do, what it does, but 5 minutes on that site made my head hurt. When the history of the fallen empire is written, chapter one will be about Elon and X.

When the left gets caught doing anything, in this case registering non-citizens to vote, they usually respond by trying to play the race card. Pathetic.

The Democrat Party of Texas got caught an election or two back mass mailing voter registration forms to Hispanics with the "US citizen" box already pre-checked and Beto O'Rourke's Senate campaign got caught sending out a mass email asking for vounteers to "drive undocumented immigrants to the polls".

Not all brown people are illegal. Ken is cherry picking voters like he does secretaries.

Obviously, your far left talking points don't bother to tell you about the Twitter files that Musk released when he took over showing massive government pressure to censor Americans on that site, or the recent letter from Mark Zuckerburg, who is not anything close to being conservative, acknowleding and appologizing for govenrment censorship on Facebook.

The fact is that the government censors concentrate on big national platforms, not on a regional platform in eastern North Carolina, at least not so far. Bolshevik Bob, you are the one full of BS and always are. It is useful idiots like you who encourage the government threat to free speech.

Absolutely true, even if the progressives at the Progressive Broadcasting System, don't like it. People who are not US citizens are not allowed to vote, and it does not matter what their skin color is. The 6,500 already removed from the rolls in Texas for the specific reason of being foreign citizens would seem to be just the tip of the iceberg. Illegal aliens, once under review, probably account for a lot of those 19,000 who requested to cancel their registration and 65,000 who failed to respond to a notice of examination.

Absolutely not true. Married Ken, I''ll bang anything in a skirt, Paxton is illegally targeting brown people who live in a purple district because he thinks they can flip it.

Hood if David Hudson could run as a Republican he would have a R on ballot. Registration issues I guess he was not a republican at the time to file. Just think Hood you have been a democrat more than anyone on the ballots. You want to fit a narrative that you and your PAC can control members. Think about self thinking person not one that gets handed papers to read in the meeting. I was in the back of the room last Tuesday and watch 2 of your PAC members tell your people how to vote from the audience. They then got up and commenced to fuss them out. All of this is on video for you to watch. I hope Beaufort County wises up and voted you out. This county deserves better than your mouth and getting nothing done.

This is a clear cut example of election interference by a federal agency, the FBI, something that should never be tolerated in a Constitutional republic. Even worse, it is election interference that apparently changed the outcome of a presidential election, and the FBI knew their spiel was false when they were imposing it on social media companies. We had worse election interference from our own government agencies than from any foreign source.

There needs to be a special prosecutor appointed to investigate and charge everyone in the FBI who participated or approved this election interference and to determine if there were any political actors involved. There should be indictments and prosecutions to discourage a travesty like this from ever happening again. Then Congress should consider whether to repeal and replace the FBI with a new honest and non-political agency. Who can ever trust the FBI again after some of its recent politicized actions?

The British press is now reporting that the shooter's father has lawyered up with heavy duty criminal defense lawyers. That would seem to indicate that there are developments indicating his involvement. Also there are the multiple foreign encrypted accounts on the shooters cell phone that raise lots of questions. But the politically corrupt FBI (Follows Bidens Instructions) is quick to claim he acted alone.

North Carolina has over 400,000 voters who do not meet the federal HAVA voter standards by having a drivers license number or last four of the social security number on their voter registration. The NC Board of Elections makes no effort to clean this up, even though many of those were registered AFTER HAVA went into effect. We also have a lot of deceased or moved voters, and probably foreign citizens that the state Board is doing nothing significant about, although some counties may be.

I don't know a lot about the big consolidated Washington elementary school, but I am hearing about the superintendent pulling the rug out from under the community school in Aurora. That's all that community needs. Backstabbed one more time.

Kamala Harris wants voters to "buy a pig in a poke" like they stupidly did with "Lyiin Hidin' Biden in his basement campaign in 2020. Harris has no policy page on her website 40 days into the campaign and is trying to run on vibes instead of issues. She has had no unscripted interviews with even friendly media. Her convention and her speech there were a hate fest against Donald Trump but almost entirely devoid of real policy. I cannot imagine Americans falling for her smoke and mirrors campaign. Running away from debates is just another example of the cowardice in this woman.

According to Gov. Abbott's stats, 6,500 non-citizens have already been removed from Texas voter rolls, and that is even before Atty. Gen. Paxton's investigations. In Virgina, is was over 8,000, and the most recent batch in Ohio was over 800. Sadly, our Democrat controlled elections boards in NC are doing nothing on this. We need a Republican govenor to get a GOP majority on those boards so we can straighten out our voter rolls.
