Commented on Radical national teachers union NEA urges school walkouts in protest of ICE law enforcementThere are two school board candidates who have been members of the NCAE teachers union, Jennifer Cornelius in the Bath school district and Monica Davis in the Washington school district. It is not certain if they have remained members since retiring. We do not need people from these teachers unions on our school board.

Teachers unions. It was particualrly odd since that is not happening on college campuses but did at a couple of high schools. But the teachers union angle explains it all.
One wonders how many of these NEA/NCAE members are teaching in local schools and if they have anything like this up their sleaves? What would out school board do about it if they do? Teachers who encourage students to leave class should be fired. These teachers unions are nont just un-A,eriocan, but they are anti-American when they engage in these radical activities.

The provisions of the school board policies I moved to change on parent input were some that had come down from Raleigh before I was on the board. They fly in the face of the landmark US Supreme Court decision in Mahmoud v. Taylor, which was decided last summer and upholds parental rights on a wide range of controversial school materials. Indeed, if the issue in any way can be related to religion, as LGBTQ materials were in that case, parental rights now trump eveyone else. I want to see our board revisit this issue so that we can align our policies with the US Surpeme Court ruling in Mahmoud v. Taylor.

One would think that any elected body would take into account the opinions of those who elect them. In the case of the school board, that would be the parents and the taxpayers. Those board members who voted to respect and consider those opinions, School Board members Rader, Hickman, Shreve, and Davis should be applauded - and re-elected. That is the type of board members we need. The others? Not so much!

CV: Good point. We need to remember our pro-parent School Board members. In fact, we need to remember all of our elected officials that act and govern like conservatives and not just give it lip service on occasion.
BTW I'm sure you know we can't assume all Republicans are conservative. On our local Beaufort County boards Democrats, when they exist, are only pile on or swing votes. The real battles between conservative and liberal policies are between Republicans.

The states that issue these corrupt CDLs to illegal aliens ought to be held responsible every time one of the illegal aliens driving a semi truck causes harm to Americans. Trucking companies ought to be heavily fined for hiring them. The Trump administration needs to crack down harder on the states issuing them. Take away their highway money. Make their CDLs not usable in other states. Fine them. Jail them. Whatever it takes. The safety of Americancitiznes on our highways is at risk.

Like all of Big Ag, Troxler is a weasel on illegal immigration. It is part of the business model of Big Ag to exploit illegal aliens as workers, so they are all-in on keeping them around. Most of them try to downplay it, but they always do everything they can to thwart immigration law enforcement. Darren Armstrong and his Big Ag buddies are the same way.

Majority Leader Thune, an old McConnell man, needs to have the heat put to him to force a "standing filibuster" on the SAVE Act. In other words, make the Democrats have to stand up for 24 hours a day to debate the bill. This is the only way it can be forced to a vote. This bill is that important, and there is a real question over whether Thune has the 'nads to do it.

I got a postcard in the mail yesterday telling me that RINO Troxler has endorsed Darren Armstrong. Well, there you have it, a John Edwards "Republican" endorsing a Marc Basnight "Republican".
His mailing also claimed to be "pro-farmer" but this clearly does not run to ALL farmers. Troxler was part of the cabal that tried to put the small independent dairies that supply raw milk to health conscious customers out of business and into bankruptcy last year. From his statements at the recent Conservative Club meeting, Armstrong also wants to put these farmers out of business. What other farmers does this pair want to throw under the bus? The man who recruited Armstrong to run, Raleigh RINO Jimmy Dixon, was the main point man on last year's scheme against the small independent dairies. Armstrong's postcard also used the word "conservative" without mentioning any specific real issue. That is standard operating procedure for RINOs who are fake conservatives. Heck even some liberal Democrats have played that game including George McGovern in his unsuccessful 1974 Senate campaign. This is an absolute "tell" that Armstrong is as phony as a three dollar bill.

With election time coming, lets give credit where credit is due. Board member Steven Rader made the motion to also consider parents opinions and it was seconded by Board member Charles Hickman. Liberal board member Carolyn Walker spoke against the motion (and thus against parents). Board members Stacey Davis and Donald Shreve also supported the pro-parent motion.
Rader, Hickman, and Shreve are all up for re-election this year. Two of them have opponents recruited by Carolyn Walker. Most of those who opposed parents on this vote will be up for election in 2028. It will be 2028 for Beaufort County to take our school board back. This year, it is mostly protecting the pro-parent members who are being challenged.

Schumer's comment about the SAVE Act being "Jim Crow 2.0" is just absurd. In reality, Schumer is Benedict Arnold 2.0 in selling America out to foreigners. Schumer should be tried for treason.

The climate industrial complex is pushing this fiasco. Not only do unreliable wind and solar electricity create a big risk of blackouts, but they also drive up the electric bills of consumers. They slipped some money to pay=to-play political boss Phil Berger to impose this crap on our state. Berger is going to make North Carolina like Germany, where obsession with wind and solar has made electric rates three times what we have been paying.

Commented on Queen Garris and Her Victory CommitteeJust to add: In North Carolina, the Open Meetings Law requires that meetings of public bodies, including political party committees, to be conducted openly to ensure transparency. Exceptions are very specific: The only exceptions to this are generally related to personnel matters and very specified examples listed in the statutes. Pertaining to political meetings only internal campaign strategy and situations when political committees are working in conjunction with official bodies on situations such as filling vacancies. There is NO exception for general business or anything outside of the very specific things listed.
So, what are these people trying to hide? I would wager they are working very hard to hide the crimes that have been exposed by the articles on this site and by the long list of victims that are protesting the wrongs that have been wrought on them. This sorry situation is a textbook example of why transparency is so important and why honesty and virtue are things to look for in our leaders.

Commented on Queen Garris and Her Victory CommitteeRather than having general supervision of the affairs of the Party within the county, with the advice and consent of the Executive Committee, Ms. Garris is unilaterally dictating to the Executive Committee. Oftentimes she doesn't even tell them what she is doing. If a member is bold enough to ask, she unilaterally excommunicates them.
She didn't like the results of the last Republican Convention, so she made her own committee (Victory Committee) to take their place. That's a complete violation of the Convention itself. Then she started unilaterally getting rid of convention elected members. That's a violation of the party Plan of Organization. At this point, the Executive Committee should make hearings for excommunicated members a secondary concern and that is not something even on the horizon now. The first hearing before the committee should be for Ms. Garris and her crimes. But is there even a functioning committee left? Are there enough knowledgeable members left? Are the majority of the existing members unethical shills for this departure from virtue? Any credible Beaufort County party may already be destroyed. The ramifications of this level of unopposed corruption are worse than many can immediately imagine. Grassroots Republicans in Beaufort County have been betrayed. Pray for the ethical leaders still left.
