The public schools need competition.

People who pay taxes need relief from failing schools.

It is that simple when one considers School Choice.

MONEY IS AVAILABLE FOR UNDERSERVED STUDENTS.
The 2023 Appropriations Act Expands Eligibility for the Opportunity Scholarship Program
On October 3, 2023, the North Carolina State Budget (House Bill 259) became law. The new law authorizes several changes to the State’s Opportunity Scholarship Program, which will begin with the 2024-2025 school year.

Changes for the 2024-2025 school year include:

Removal of the income cap for families to receive the scholarship; now all North Carolina students in kindergarten through 12th grade will be eligible for the Scholarship regardless of income.
Prior public school enrollment is no longer a requirement for eligibility for the scholarship.
A student’s scholarship amount will be based on household income.
Scholarship amounts will range from approximately $3,000 to approximately $7,000.
The Opportunity Scholarship application for the 2024-2025 school year will open on February 1, 2024. Families must apply by March 1 to receive priority consideration

But will this release any political prisoners?

The private sector does darn near anything better than government, and that includes education. Private schools, on average, spend less per pupil than public schools but achieve much better education results. Those opportunities should be there for all students, not just children of the rich. The teachers union and much of the education establishment is injecting political indoctrination into public schools. A poll last year in North Carolina found that 71% of North Carolina parents are concerned about political indoctrination in the public schools. Competition makes everything better and that includes schools.

RE: Test Scores for Private Schools.
In accordance with G.S. 115C-549, 550 and G.S. 115C-557, 558, each private school must administer a nationally standardized test or other nationally standardized equivalent measurement selected by the chief administrator to all students enrolled and regularly attending grades 3, 6, 9, and 11 each year. The nationally standardized test or other equivalent measurement selected by the chief administrator must measure achievement in the areas of English grammar, reading, spelling and mathematics in grades 3 and 6. For grade 9, the nationally standardized test or other equivalent measurement selected must measure either (a) achievement in the areas of English grammar, reading, spelling, and mathematics or (b) competencies in the verbal and quantitative areas. The grade 11 test must measure competencies in the verbal and quantitative areas. Non-public school law also requires that the test results be kept on file at the school's office for one year....

The writer has lots of interesting ideas, but misses the point of vouchers. They take money from public schools that educate all children and send it to private schools that have tons of discriminatory admission policies. I want my tax dollars going to public schools that are accountable to everyone in the community, not just to private schools. Where are test scores for private schools? How do we know kids are learning anything at all?

But there is no differnce. THese are functionally the same term. "of color" and "colored" are the same thing. This is a typical playing with words by the far left.

People of color = respect
Colored people = disrespect

I'm not surprised you don't know the difference.

We know that the Center - Left Coalition, a majority of Beaufort County Commissioners, do not support School Choice.

This article hits the nail on the head. It is the recipe for success.

Let us see how many School Board members in any county are willing to endorse it?

Conor McGregor seems like he has a lot more sense than this idiot of an Irish prime minister. Hopefully, he will be forming a political party to bring some common sense to Irish politics. Apparently, the Irish government has a crying need for common sense on multiple fronts.

The American judicial system let us down in 2020. The Democrats had a lawyer going all over the country using Covid as an excuse, and got elections conducted under systems contrary to existing law iw ways that made it easier to cheat. He often colluded with Democrat run elections boards or secretaries of states in a "sue and settle" scam. When challenged, our courts refused to uphold established and duly adopted election law against these scams. The courts failure to stand up for our election laws prior to the election was an outrage and led to the fraud on election day. As expected, they buried their heads in the sand after the stolen election, oo.

How many times was Biden warned about this very thing happening. Millions have come across that open border. He has put our families at risk while he enjoys Secret Service protection for himself and his family. Worst President ever.

Gee, when I was growing up, it was impolite and indeed insulting to use the term "colored people" but now it is in vogue with the far left to use the term "people of color". What's the difference?

Varadkar is a tyrant who wants to shut up opposition to his open borders policies by censorship, using repressive and totalitarian "hate speech" laws. They have now opened a criminal investigation of one of Ireland's top sports heroes for speaking out against Varadkar on the mass knifing at an elementary school by an Algerian immigrant.

We discovered that the court system in the 2020 General Election were either incapable or disinterested in the considering of contested cases where the plaintiff was not a Democratic Socialist.

All elections must be adjudicated as best that can be done before election day due to Two Tiered Justice System in the USA.

There he goes again, Bigot Bob trying to bring race into an issue that is ideological. Everyone involved in this is white.

When election fraud steals an election, the victims generally sue to get a new election, and hopefully get a court that will give them a full hearing. That is what happens in Europe. When the left cheated in the German state of Berlin's election a couple of years ago, the right sued, and the Constitutional Court ordered a full new election, which the right won. When Ukraine's pro-Russian party stole an election for parliament, the pro-western parties sued and their Constitutional Court ordered a full new election, which the pro-western parties won. That has happened some other places in Europe, but American courts make up excuses not to tackle these issues, and that is a threat to democracy. Many of these issues were brought to the courts to try to correct before the election even happened, but our pathetic American courts just looked the other way.
