Quick Bio:

  • My name is Stacey Davis, and I am prepared to actively represent District 5 as a proud Beaufort County School Board Member. I believe the real (M)oral (V)alues (P)rinciples play an imperative part in supporting a conducive learning environment for children. Today's curriculum has become a battlefield and testing ground infiltrated by corruption. If elected, my goals are to support the educational system in letting children be children from Kindergarten, Early College to Graduation. My qualifications include a Bachelors in Public Relations, almost two decades as a local level marketer, NC Pre-K certifications and board involvements including Camp Happy Kids and Duplin County NC Pre-K, Former Licensed Teaching Qualifications in Beaufort, Duplin and Johnston Counties. I have successfully owned and operated my own business for over 18 years, headed more than my share of community events, and well comprehend the toils of budgeting, planning, and compliance. I am a native, and have two children enrolled in P.S. Jones and one John Small. I enrolled in Bath, Northside, and Chocowinity as a youth.

  • My children alone give me every reason to challenge the rights to this seat, but I will also exemplify the rights of every family and citizen while protecting the innocence and safety of Beaufort County students to better prepare them for tomorrow's world today.

Intro Letter:

To All Our Friends Who Care About Education,

I am Stacey Davis, and I am running for a seat in the 2024 District 5 Beaufort County School Board Elections. This is because every student deserves a high-quality education. As a single parent of three children who attend our public schools, a former student myself who attended three Beaufort County schools throughout childhood, a native and an adoptive mother, I know firsthand the challenges students and teachers face in our education system and outside of our communities. That is why I am committed to advocating for increasing opportunities utilizing community innovation while keeping morals and values intact for better behaviors and mental health, and particular support for much-needed safety updates. Our schools must be safe, functional, and conducive to learning within limitations.

I will help promote a curriculum that is academically rigorous and prepares students for success in the 21st century by strongly encouraging a devoted focus on their developmental levels without forced agenda from outside of a family's belief system and assistance to families to understand the academic struggles of their children. This includes ensuring that our students and parents or guardians have access to well-trained instructors and counselors, the latest technologies, and resources necessary for them to strive with highly supported success. Teachers and parents can agree curriculum has faced many struggles regarding common core math and the aftermath of Covid.

As a former NC certified teacher, PTO President, and consultant, I have seen the importance of having fully educated and qualified teachers who receive the resources and support they need to help students thrive. I will help support policies that attract and retain the best educators and ensure they have the resources they need to succeed while being a valued part of our communities and helping our schools succeed. Bringing business and community together is not only something we should be doing, but a social responsibility.

Finally, I am passionate about student well-being, and I will prioritize programs that address mental health, bullying, and provide opportunities for extracurricular activities away from technology to allow the senses of our children to fully develop socially instead of through machines. I believe that a well-rounded education that addresses students' social and emotional needs is essential for their overall success. The vehicle to achievement is balance through guidance.

My firsthand experiences as a parent of three children, 18 - year business owner, community advocate, Duplin County NC Pre-K Board Member, education professional that has worked or volunteered in four school districts Onslow, Carteret, Craven and Beaufort has prepared me well for this role. I hold a degree in Public Relations with a large concentration on globalization and have volunteered in various capacities in my children's schools and communities. As a community leader, I have advocated for activities and policies that improve education outcomes for all students, teachers, towns, cities, and parents.

I am committed to helping create excellent educational opportunities for all students while exhibiting "MVP" (morals, values, principles) qualities. By committing to the school board, I pledge to work for our families and teachers while supporting a better infrastructure to prepare today's students of Beaufort County for tomorrow's world. In further hopes of retaining our students and maintaining our values enriching the growth of citizens for generations to come within our county. I thank you for considering me as a candidate, and I would be honored to have your vote.

    With Warm Regards,

      Stacey Davis

Will Simmons,
Your belief may be so, but the era is upon us and mastering or at the least understanding the craft is in our best interest.

Well Stacey, you appear shockingly normal.
The point of question 2 was to emphasize that although parents have rights, no one parent has the right to make decisions for everyone. A school system cannot cater to the crazies on either side and should be open to including a diverse perspective not just the dominant culture's perspective.

best of luck to you.

Big Bob,
Critical thinking and facts are not all we should focus on. Ofcourse not, what’s the fun of that, right? But, to take facts and combine with applications, arts and play we ..
Question assumptions
Reason through logic &
Diversify thought

I speak being a simple minded man and I beg your pardon, but it is my belief, globalization will effectively achieve a net loss for humanity before it is finished.

Not bad answers Stacey but I would ask clarification on question 2:

One cannot teach in a vacuum. Not all learning is just about "facts". Example: Its a fact that there was a US civil war. I would venture that fact might be the only thing the folks in BC would agree on. With respect to the war. It happened. Everything else, we argue about.

Beyond facts, kids need to learn critical thinking skills. How do we go about that?

CV think back to HS. Were you calling kids fag, or, were other kids calling you a fag?

Hi Mr. Simmons,

Fantastic questions!

First, let’s talk about a quick definition of what part of globalization I like to discuss. Globalization is a term used to describe how trade and technology have made the world into a more connected and interdependent place. Globalization also captures in its scope the economic and social changes that have come about as a result of digital communications we can share responsibly and safely with our children to heighten learning and resource.

At this point, since the 20th century we have experienced free trade and international cooperation, the end of the Cold War, the introduction of new communication and transportation technologies, and the rise of the internet.

What do statements about public relations, economy, and globalization regarding myself mean?

It means no ceiling for the solutions and possibilities we may face as an individual, organization or community.

“Stacey loves to talk about the economy, globalization and what it means for all our futures, not just children.”

“I hold a degree in Public Relations with a large concentration on globalization”

What exactly do these statements mean?

Bullying is a problem that has been there for ages, and usually has not a darn thing to do with homosexuality. It is when persons who are physically strong but mentally or emotionally insecure prey on the weak. A homosexual could be on either side of that equation. Bullying is wrong regardless of who the bully is or who the victim is, and it should be stopped.

Big Bob, Hi!

Thank you so much for reaching out with some really great questions.

The Bible has had the greatest impact on my life. It is the most copied book of antiquity. It has been translated into every language with surprising associations between culture that uses love and tolerance to bring people together. No matter my hardship, celebration or curiosity, there is a verse to be found that brings me growth with comfort. My favorite verse is Matthew 5:9. Check it out!

"A" family's belief system includes the values that members ascribe to and are reinforced "within the family". The goal of a "forced agenda" is to create stereotypes which can lead to oppression b/c students are being forced to accept "opinions", values, and actions while theirs's being disregarded. Let us respect our educators enough to not put them in that position. The teacher's job is hard enough with all the developmental issues we have created for them. Allow them to focus on academics for testing and giving a child an environment for conducive learning. Forced agendas in schools should not be tolerated. Their developing minds have enough to process. Children are not nourished the same as before. Most of our youth do not have the benefits of a nuclear family. Children are overstimulated and it is affecting our teacher's progress providing them very little support in the classroom. For children to stay focused on the results the educator needs for that child to retain the wealth of knowledge from their class curriculum used in testing. Since 1868, our nation has moved in a prosperous direction with civil rights. American Rights should not be treated as 'Opportunity Rights.' Seeing as public schools are the only opportunity most children have to succeed in life, not one valuable moment should be wasted on opinions and belief, but strictly remain truthful in data- driven factual information.

LBGT kids are the same as any other kid. It is not fair for a LBGT kid to be treated any differently than a straight kid. (I like the word child, but we will use 'kid' in re: to your questions) Intimate details of a child's sexual orientation should be treated as private and respected by all. As far as bullying, the policy is NO TOLERENCE. Every single child in Beaufort County Schools or any other school for that matter deserves dignity and to be treated equally whatever the sex, race or age.

Three questions:

What book has had the greatest impact on you and why?

You state that ciriculum 'without forced agenda from outside of a family's belief system '. Whose? Which family? Please square this this with providing all children a quality education that is both genuine and reality based.

Tell us how you plan to protect LBGT kids from bullying?
