Comments for More Terror in Obama's America

Two Muslim terrorists have been killed after storming a Freedom of Speech event in Garland, Texas. The event, held at Curtis Culwell Center, was basically a contest for cartoon depictions of the Prophet Muhammad.

I was fortunate to get a broadened mind and ability to reason and debate from Emory. Part of the process was to meet fellow students from all over this country---each of whom was sharp and developing the same ability to analyze. It was far from the tobacco field or pool halls where you discussed the price of beer with your buddies. . .

On of the first "tells" on students who were pretenders was they used big words instead of real communication --- kind of like someone I enjoy debating--somewhere I know. Many times the bigger the words, the shakier and weaker the logic!

Emory's fine as far as colleges go, but Emory is no different than graduating from most anywhere else, or learning real information from actually performing in a continual excellent manner.

I just think you would be wise not laud Emory, and some of your past professors, as most special for some of us will know better.

Thanks, Stan for a clearer picture of you post-high school education. I hate you don't respect a good school like Emory.

Tell you what you do --- go to their website and take a good look at their philosophy and methodology. It involves challenging a small town southern boy like me at a year early from high school (I graduated in 11 years rather than the normal 12). Many of my basic assumptions and prejudices got a real challenge to EXPLAIN WHY.

If you ever turn on CNN vs. Fox, you will see each week a number of Emory folks with the CDC / Medical School / Rollins Business School / Law School be brought in for "EXPERT INSIGHTS."

TheY did not let any student off the self-examination / explain --- with logic --- why you are who you claim to be. Their Debate team usually won or placed high in the Debate Team world of logic and verbal competition. They choose NOT to get their academics side-tracked with big sports. They are like Duke in many ways, but don't give a crap about the ACC National title, nor mess with dummies playing on their sports team with special consideration. Preppies don't rule at Emory!

I shall give you a classic picture of Emory education vs. the rest of GA. I was president of the BSU my senior year. The 2 years I attended the Baptist Student Union state-wide meeting it was interesting to note the vehicles disgorging students.

Our Emory station wagon had us getting out with an arms full of books because most of us had a paper due, come Monday, and the graders were using "the curve" to grade us. The rest had their sports equipment to "play ball and have fun." In other words, if you knew it all, it didn't matter. 20% were going to get high grades / 60% were in the average range / 20% were going to fail, man!!!

Had you tried such intellectual challenge and humiliation of having been a top 10% in high school then an average student at Emory---you might just have learned a few things --- STARTING WITH HUMILITY, bud!!!

I don't care about college. I learn stuff everyday, and that is why I know collectively more than many college professors, and it really should not be that way, but, sadly, it is.

My advice to everyone is to not put so much faith in your school that you may have been fortunate enough to graduate from. People, who discuss their school as if it is this bastion of ultimate wisdom - like none other - are some of the most shallow, and poorly informed people I have ever met, and it does not matter where they graduated from.

The educated folks that I take my proverbial hat off to are: the engineers, the doctors, the mathematicians, the chemists, the molecular biologists, the physicists, the West Point, the Annapolis, the Air Force grads - these are my intellectual heroes.

They make a real difference, and that is just a plain fact.

That was ugly about Emory, Stan --- so where did you graduate and what was your major ---school of DUMBHATE --- I bet . . . Did Dick Cheney sponsor you???

Cutting off heads started with David and Goliath so it is biblical --- not nice, but biblical. Maybe our terrorism of taking their oil got them really pissed off ???

Well, it ain't working.

Every student of world history knows that. But, I guess they didn't teach the reality of world history at your dear Emory.

I assume we all have the Jury verdict of DEATH for the Boston Marathon Bomber.

Between involving local countries in taking out Terrorists, aerial drone strikes, and a growing global disgust of HATE --- we are making progress on defeating the sneaky snakes of Terror in this world . . .

The US --- under the influence of a good President --- is becoming a leader rather than the sole enforcer of civility for the world.

The curious aspect to the killing of these two would be murderous Muslims, clothed in body armor and brandishing assault rifles, is that we still do not know the name of the singular hero, who took out both of these members of the Mohamed Death Militia, probably with head shots.

This guy is a city cop and a true American hero. I am thankful for that shield of blue, and especially the best of them, as this unnamed man is.

I love messing with Stan --- now you give me a second Conservative to poke, buddy!

Here is the first word for your count, Tony --- liberal
Commented: Tuesday, May 5th, 2015 @ 6:29 am By: Gene Scarborough
I would vote "stupid" No. 1 for obvious reasons, and then Liberal; "Not that there's anything wrong with that".

On this post: Liberal -2, Stupid -0. This post was about public safety and terrorism, and these are issues that Liberals are dismissive of, so the "L" had to be mentioned.

So-o-o-o~~~what is your real point, Tony????

I call it like I see it. What's your count on Stan and company words= stupid / ignorant / liberal / president / . . . If you read this fine e-magazine, then do the comparison of my numbers to theirs---which are pretty consistent with put down of anything they perceive as "liberal."

I actually think your "Hate" equation may be a smokescreen for distrust of basic math.

Hate is HATE, bro!!! Sorry about that . . .

I get it: "Blame America First".

Actually, it was Timothy McVeigh and about 20 years ago, and I like White cops or Black cops, even though some will make mistakes, but for the most part, they keep us safe.

So, what you are saying is that purposeful Christian genocide, at the hands of Muslims, around the world in the tens of thousands in just the last two years, is the moral equivalency of Timothy McVeigh 20 years ago, and a few bad, or mistaken cops here in America now.

Should we blame Ronald Reagan as well as America, or just our public safety officers?

"Now if you will deal with White Supremacy of the kind practiced by Terry McVeigh in Oklahoma and too many white cops brought to the light of day in recent months---THEN we would have a more "fair and balanced" outlook."

Okay, embrace the other side of that coin. What is it?

Stan---you never miss an opportunity to focus on Terrorism and Fear, my brother. Now is you will deal with White Supremacy of the kind practiced by Terry McVeigh in Oklahoma and too many white cops brought to the light of day in recent months---THEN we would have a more "fair and balanced" outlook.

I totally join you in deploring killing on the streets. The Middle East and fundamentalist Muslims are but an example of "hate and kill control of people." That IS NOT any part of Constitutional Dreams of the Founding Fathers, in my view.

Rather, they envisioned a Republic where the Will of the People was followed. In a day of "bought representatives" --- this, it seems to me, is worthy of note!
