Governor Pat McCrory has appointed attorney Todd Pomeroy as Superior Court judge for Cleveland and Lincoln counties. Pomeroy will fill the vacancy of Superior Court Judge James W. Morgan in District 27B who will retire on December 31, 2014.

    Raleigh, N.C.     Governor Pat McCrory has appointed attorney Todd Pomeroy as Superior Court judge for Cleveland and Lincoln counties. Pomeroy will fill the vacancy of Superior Court Judge James W. Morgan in District 27B who will retire on December 31, 2014.

    "Todd Pomeroy has been practicing criminal law in the district in which he will preside for nearly 18 years," Governor McCrory said. "His common sense, legal expertise and real-world experiences will enhance North Carolina's judiciary."

    Pomeroy is a partner in the Jonas Law Firm based in Lincolnton. He worked at the firm as a law clerk in the summer of 1995 while still attending law school. He was hired as an associate attorney by the firm in 1996 and was made partner in January 2000. During his time at the Jonas Law Firm, he has represented clients in more than 100 jury trials.

    Pomeroy received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University in 1993 and in 1996 earned his law degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.
