Cook Swearing-in Ceremonies in District | Eastern NC Now

    Raleigh, N.C.     Senator Bill Cook (R-District 1) is scheduled to be sworn in for a second term to the North Carolina State Senate. The Senator is hosting three ceremonies throughout Eastern North Carolina to accommodate the large geography area of Senate District 1.

    The first ceremony will take place at the Dare County Courthouse: (962 Marshall Collins Drive, Manteo, NC 27954), on Thursday, January 08, at 5:30 p.m. The oath of office will be administered by the Honorable Jerry R. Tillett, Senior Resident Superior Court Judge. A reception will follow at the conclusion of the ceremony at 108 Budleigh: (108 Budleigh Street, Manteo, NC 27954).

    In conjunction with Representative Bob Steinburg (R-District 1) the second ceremony will take place at the Pasquotank County Courthouse: (206 East Main Street, Elizabeth City, NC 27909), on Friday, January 09, at 5:30 p.m. The oath of office will be administered by the Honorable Bob Edmunds, North Carolina Supreme Court Justice. A reception will follow at the conclusion of the ceremony at the Culpepper Inn: (609 West Main Street, Elizabeth City, NC 27909).

    The third ceremony will take place at the Beaufort County Courthouse: (112 West 2nd Street, Washington, NC 27889), on Saturday, January 10, at 5:30 p.m. The oath of office will be administered by the Honorable Bob Edmunds, North Carolina Supreme Court Justice. A reception will follow at the conclusion of the ceremony at On The Waterfront Restaurant: (1 Harding Square, Washington, NC 27889).

    North Carolina Senate District 1 consists of Beaufort, Hyde, Dare, Currituck, Camden, Pasquotank, Perquimans, and Gates counties.

    "It is with great pleasure that I cordially invite the public to join me at one of my ceremonies / receptions as I am sworn in for a second term. State government is where the rubber meets the road - where we make critical decisions about the future of our public schools, our tax system, our infrastructure, and our economy," Cook said. "My motto is that my constituents are the boss. I enjoy assisting folks across the district to solve real world problems and navigate the inner-workings of our state government. Voting is a privilege, and I am humbled to have the good faith of the folks I represent.
