    News Release:

In his quest to restore the broken Democrat state machine in Raleigh, Roy Cooper continues to hope North Carolinians forget his record and history.

Exhibit #1: The same day Governor McCrory and legislative leaders announced a breakthrough spending agreement, Roy Cooper sent out a campaign email solicitation criticizing the length of the ongoing state budget negotiations.

But Roy Cooper seems to have forgotten that in 1998 as the General Assembly's Senate Majority Leader, he was in charge of hammering out and passing a budget during what turned out to be the longest budget session in state history.

           •  "After 247 days of banging gavels and knocking heads, North Carolina's 'part-time' legislature ended the longest two-year session of the General Assembly in state history yesterday." (David Rice, "Assembly shuts up shop for the year session's record length leads to call for limits on duration, expenses," Winston-Salem Journal, 10/30/1998)

           •  "'It's difficult to negotiate with a moving target, and that's the problem we faced in our negotiations with the House leadership,' said Senate Majority Leader Roy Cooper, D-Nash." (David Rice, "Assembly shuts up shop for the year session's record length leads to call for limits on duration, expenses," Winston-Salem Journal, 10/30/1998)

I just did a quick research on NC Budget numbers:
www.politicsnc.com

If gives this small business owner great comfort to know the current Administration and Legislature did their thing on small businesses all over the state . . .

I feel the pain each week / now there is no doubt from whence is comes!!!

Here is the truth of it:

I am not in politics.

North Carolina is constitutionally required to be in the Black.

The only time that I know North Carolina was categorically in the Red was during Democrat Beverly Perdue's administration.

WOW ~~~ you gripe when I bring out the Reagan corpse and bad stuff on McCrory and his lies over "saving the working folks of NC money ~~~~ then go to 1998 --- 17 years ago --- to try and put down my good Senator, Roy "Coop" Cooper . . .

How were your state taxes and wasn't the budget balanced them????

You Conservatives amaze me with your spitballs when the last 2 years of NC politics has been nothing but SEWAGE. . .
