Danny Reed Does It Again! | Eastern North Carolina Now

For Immediate Release

Best School Bus Inspector in the State Once Again from Beaufort County

Danny Reed from the Beaufort County Schools Transportation Department took top honors once again as the Best Bus Inspector in the state during the recent North Carolina Pupil Transportation Association's annual conference. Reed placed ahead of 11 other finalists who inspected previously "rigged" buses on a very hot Asheville day.

The win comes on the heels of an increase in the difficulty of problems laid out for competing inspectors in the written and hands-on portions of the event.

According to Jerry Wynne, Director of Transportation for Beaufort County Schools, "Danny is a very strong member of our team. He has a sharp eye for discrepancies and has memorized the rule book inside and out. "
A proud Danny Reed stands before his trusty steed.

He will once again represent North Carolina at the NAPT competition in San Antonio, Texas, where he will try for his second national championship. In 2007, Danny won the Nationals held in Peoria, Illinois. He also placed 3rd nationally last year at the event held in Jasper, Indiana.

"We are very proud of Danny Reed and his accomplishments," explained John Conway, Assistant Superintendent for Beaufort County Schools. "He is a great example of the quality and talent we are fortunate to have in our transportation department. He will once again represent us well."
