    Carla Faye Davis Bruce, age 85, a resident of Goldsboro, died peacefully on December 1, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.

    A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 4th, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Carla's childhood home church, Pike Road Church of Christ, Pantego, NC and will be officiated by Lennie Reagan and Bryan Copeland. Burial will follow at Davis Cemetery, Pantego, NC. Pallbearers include Ryan Williams, T.J. Fowler, Zach Williams, Roy Millberg, John Millberg and Tony Williams.

    Carla was born in Pungo, NC and graduated as valedictorian from Pantego High School in 1948. Upon marrying, she and Walter moved often with Walter's job and touched countless lives in many towns and churches around the country and over-seas. She spent her final years in Goldsboro, NC.

    She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Walter Richard Bruce, Jr., her children, Walter Richard Bruce, III (Terry), Melanie Williams (Tony), and Lori Millberg (John), 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 4 of her siblings and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

    She was preceded in death by her sister Donna Sale, her youngest son, Perry Bruce, grandson, Tahj Bruce and great-grandson, Tripp Latiolais.

    The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 pm until the funeral hour at Pike Road Church of Christ and following the burial, the family will receive friends at her childhood home at 8226 NC 99 Hwy. North, Pantego, NC.
