Sabe Wilis 2017 Project Update | Eastern North Carolina Now

I have had many ideas with what I wanted to create with the Sabe Wilis Project since its inception. There are numerous ideological differences between my earlier works and now. I could write an entire article on where I changed, and that is something that needs to be done. However, throughout this entire time, the Sabe Wilis project was meant to tell stories of great meaning; they were meant to challenge ideas. This is something that I will continue to work toward in the upcoming year, with my largest and most ambitious project so far.

A new Trials of Ambiguity is still in the works, but the book's release format has changed. Before, I was planning to release an anthology of short stories which would give background for the novel, followed by the novel's release. After much consideration, I decided against it as I discovered it would take away from the novel's quality. This novel was thought of two years ago, work started on it in full focus one year ago.

Trials of Ambiguity: The Fall of Sector E38 (TFoSE38) was removed from Amazon and Createspace by my own initiative. This is because I was not satisfied with the quality of the work. The story of TFoSE38 is now non-canon meaning it did not happen in the Trials of Ambiguity fictional universe. However, there are many things in the in-development novel which reference the events in The Fall of Sector E38 as the new novel takes place roughly 15 years before TFoSE38.

This novel is a great passion of mine. I have put in an incredible amount of work into this piece, and I do not regret a moment. I greatly enjoy writing the world of Sector E38 despite the fact that it is my imagination of one of the worse places imaginable. This project is still personally worthwhile to me, even if its negatively received; it was worthwhile for the experiences it gave me and how much I learned throughout the project.

In addition to the novel I plan to continue writing regular op-eds, but they I will release them rather infrequently; the reason being that it is not appealing to me in many cases. Additionally, I don't release things unless I am absolutely satisfied with the piece. This past year, only about 40% of my op-eds were actually released. I have a lot of ideas to discuss, but I have no intention to release something I know is sub-par.

This book is the most ambitious project I have started, and it is one I will complete. More updates will come in the future.

Sabe,
Keep up the writing process even if you don't feel the quality meets your standards for publishing. You are gifted in the imagination arena to create a completely fictitious scenario that often comes a bit too close to the reality.

Writing is an end unto itself and does not a require a destination at the start. Most professional writers are dissatisfied with their work upon review of it at a later time.

I find writing a pleasurable journey through my own mind and if others find it of interest that is okay. I came late to the enjoyment of it but you have a lifetime ahead of you to wander through the process. Enjoy it.
