Breaking and Entering, Larceny of a Firearm Suspect Arrested | Eastern NC Now

Also in early January of 2017 a breaking, entering and the larceny of a firearm was reported to the Sheriff's Office by a resident of Old Blounts Creek Rd. in Chocowinity NC.

    On December 17, 2016 The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office received a report that a Registered Sex Offender moved from his current residence on Old Blounts Creek Road and failed to register his change of address within the time required by the State.

    On January 1, 2017 The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office learned the same Sex Offender who registered at another address on Whichard's Beach Road, never actually moved to that address. The Sheriff's Office opened an investigation and learned that Michael Gene Paschall, age 33 of Chocowinity, stayed at a residence between January 1 and January 6, 2017 on Ann Street in Chocowinity and never registered at that address. While staying at the Ann Street residence Paschall was suspected of stealing a firearm. After the investigation into those offenses Paschall was charged with three counts of Failure to Notify Change of Address, as required by law to the Sheriff's Office with jurisdiction and one count each of Larceny of a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

    Also in early January of 2017 a breaking, entering and the larceny of a firearm was reported to the Sheriff's Office by a resident of Old Blounts Creek Rd. in Chocowinity NC. Michael Gene Paschall was developed as a suspect in that case and charged with one count each of Breaking and Entering, Larceny of a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

    After receiving a Crime Stoppers Tip Paschall was arrested on January 17, 2017 in Pitt County and transported to Beaufort County Detention Center. Paschall was ordered held by a Magistrate on a 25,000.00 secured bond.

    On January 25, 2017 Paschall was served with another charge of Possession of a Firearm by a Felon after investigators learned he conducted the private sale of a gun to a citizen of Beaufort County in June of 2016. Another $15,000.00 was added to his bond.

    Paschall is suspected of numerous Breaking and Enterings and likely faces more criminal charges after the investigation is completed. moved from his current residence on Old Blounts Creek Road and failed to register his change of address within the time required by the State.

On Monday, April 13, 2026, the Beaufort County Grand Jury returned a True Bill of Indictment against 24-year-old Brady O’Neil Daniels of Wallace, NC, charging him with the murder of Billy Joe Bell in 2023.
On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call in a wooded area near Pamlico Plantation in Washington NC.
In the past month, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Patrol and K9 Division have arrested 10 people in the county on felony drug charges.
On December 12, 2025, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested 27-year-old Nikkopenia Terra Echevarria of Washington, NC on multiple felony drug charges.
Beaufort County District Attorney Thomas D. Anglim disclosed that Ryan Austin Stalls was convicted of two counts attempted murder and one count of attempted first degree ex offense and first-degree kidnapping following a guilty plea in Beaufort County on December 9, 2025.
On December 22, 2025, Deputies from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the Aurora/Richlands area for a report of a foul odor coming from inside a rental property where a tenant had previously moved out.
On December 5, 2025, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested 39-year-old, Arnold Gerard Whitney of Belhaven, NC on multiple drug and weapon charges.
On Tuesday December 9th, 2025, 33-year-old Ryan Austin Stalls pled guilty in Beaufort County Superior Court to the following charges:

On January 27, 2025 Washington Police Department officers and Washington Fire/Rescue personnel responded to the area of Bonner Street and E. Martin Luther King Jr. Street in reference to a report of a motor vehicle crash.
During the past month, members from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit, Patrol Division and K9 Unit have charged seven people in the county on felony drug charges.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office needs your help locating a wanted person. On October 27, 2025, 40-year-old Givon Montrell Hodges of Washington, NC left Superior Court in Beaufort County and failed to return.

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received reports of multiple vehicle break-ins between December 6 th and December 9 th in the areas of Turkey Trot Rd., South Asbury Church Rd. and Magnolia School Rd. in Washington.

On December 16 th the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Response Team along with officers from the Washington Police Department joined forces to arrest a subject wanted in Beaufort and Pitt County for ten outstanding warrants that included multiple felony charges.
