Arts of the Pamlico's Weekly Update March 21st, 2017 | Eastern North Carolina Now

Press Release:

AOP saw a wonderful reception this past Thursday evening for the second group of Students of the Pamlico, and the Belhaven Arts Council Oil Painting Exhibits. Congratulations to our best in show winners: Ashlyn Everette for the Senior Grades, and Gracie Warren for Beaufort Community College. Congratulations as well to all the students who participated in the art show. The works displayed how talented the students are in the our schools, and we are proud to display their work.

The historic Turnage also hosted the Pamlico Writers Conference over the weekend. Writers were able to learn more about perfecting their craft and draw inspiration for new projects from key speakers and panels. Participants also received tips on publishing personal works and were able to take part in some key networking to help in their careers. The Gallery of the Turnage also provided the setting for the I.C. Improv Comedy Troupe to tickle the funny bones of patrons Saturday evening. The Theatre stage lit up Sunday when ECU Storybook Theater brought "Just So Stories" by Rudyard Kipling to life on the stage.

    Help us reach our goal!

AOP is striving to build our membership. It is an important aspect of our foundation to have strong membership numbers. It shows that we are reaching the community and our community hears us and is responding. There are many levels of membership from personal student levels of $20 up to corporate sponsorship. Even at the minimum level you will receive weekly emails and invitations to all receptions offered at AOP. Our goal is to present various artistic opportunities in the arts to our communities. The best way we can serve this purpose is to have as much of the community on board with us as we can so the dialouge of the wants, needs artistically of our community can be served. Join us today.

Our goal is 500 people by May 31st. Call (252) 946-2504 or drop by the Box Office today to become a member.
