Uptown Greenville Welcomes ECU Homecoming to Freeboot Friday | Eastern North Carolina Now

    GREENVILLE, N. C.     Freeboot Friday kicks-off the ECU Homecoming Weekend on Friday, October 20 at 5:00PM, at the Five Points Plaza. ECU Homecoming brings special guests PeeDee the Pirate, the ECU Cheerleaders, ECU Dance team, Homecoming skit performers, the Men's and Women's Basketball teams, the ECU Marching Pirates and more!

    Jupiter Jones will headline this week's Freeboot Friday. This high-energy party band born out of Greenville, NC. Voted Best Band by Greenville's Mixer Magazine in 2009, 2011, and 2014. At a Jupiter Jones performance, you'll dance all night to a variety of musical selections.

    Freeboot Friday's featured food truck, Skylight Inn, has been making BBQ since 1947. National Geographic named Pete Jones' BBQ, of Skylight Inn, some of the best barbecue in the country. Jones' BBQ has been featured on the Travel Channel, Food Network, and the History Channel. Plus, Details Magazine chose Skylight Inn as one of the "Top 22 Sandwiches" in America in 2006. Cool off with a cold treat from Kona Ice at the event. Sup Dogs will be at the event serving up hotdogs as well. Freeboot Friday has free face painting, bounce houses, Purple the Clown, and crafts for kids, Greenville Utilities Commission will offer free GUC bucket truck rides. Uptown Greenville welcomes Pirate Nation to join in the celebration at Five Points Plaza and cheer on the home team for ECU's Homecoming.

  • 8:00pm Strike of event

    The Sup Dogs Game Day Shuttle services run home game days from the Uptown district to Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. The shuttle will run three hours prior, during, and two hours after the game. Shuttle route information can be found at www.uptowngreenville.com. Tailgating is prohibited in the municipal parking lots, while supporting Uptown businesses is encouraged.
