    Mrs. Virginia Mae Ange Allen, age 88, a resident of Greenwood, Delaware, and former resident of Pungo, NC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 28, 2018, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, DE.

    A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday April 5, 2018 at Davis Cemetery in Pungo, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday April 4, 2018 at Paul Funeral Home in Belhaven, NC.

    Mrs. Allen was born in Plymouth, NC in 1929 to the late Clinton Ange and Daisy Salmon. She was raised in Suffolk, VA until 1945 when she married Royce Clarence Allen and moved to Pungo. Mrs. Allen raised her 3 children and lived in Pungo until retirement, in which her and her husband then moved to Wachula, Florida. In 2004, after 3 devastating hurricanes destroyed her home, she then moved to Greenwood, DE to live closer to her daughter. Mrs. Allen loved her family, and cherished every moment she got to spend with them. Mrs. Allen enjoyed square dancing with her husband and went to many conventions and competitions around the country.

    She was a member of the Union Grove Church of Christ in Pungo and was also a member of the North Carolina Order of the Eastern Star.

    Mrs. Allen is survived by 3 children, Royce Allen, Jr. (Sonny), of Belhaven, NC, Loretta Allen Schrock and her husband Brent, of Greenwood, DE, and Kristy Allen, of Castle Rock, CO. She is survived by 8 grandchildren, Clint Allen, Alicia Durham, Tamatha Sterling, Chelsea Borders, Tyler Schrock, Bethany Schlabach, Trever Schrock, and Chanel Duran, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband, and her sister Peggy Ange.
