What's on the Agenda to Worry about Today?

Now that I have solved the problem with the Supreme court, I return to more mundane pursuits. It is good to return to the simple things in life from time to time.

While doing the laundry today, I noticed once again that I have numerous shirts in the closet that are almost never worn anymore. I also noticed that I have several dress shirts still in the plastic covering that they use at the local laundry mat.  I say local, but that is not be entirely accurate.  I have been living in this house since 2008 and most of those dress shirts are from a cleaner in Stone Mountain.  I have not lived in Stone Mountain since 2005.  Since retiring, I no longer have the need to wear dress shirts and suits. Most of the suits and sports coats are long since gone. I even had to buy a new suit for my son's wedding in 2014. I justified that because it will probably be the same suit that I will be buried (or cremated) in.

I did note that there were also a few shirts there not in their plastic covers. One was a dress shirt that I guess was part of a multi-pack from the cleaners. Normally, when I remove a shirt from a multi-pack, I am careful not to destroy the plastic cover. I just remove the shirt by fishing it down through the hole so the rest of the shirts can stay clean in the closet. Imagine my surprise when I saw that one dress shirt was on a hanger from an Oklahoma cleaners.  I note that I have not been to Oklahoma since the late 1990's.

That is when I had my epiphany of the day.  I share it with you because you too may have the same problem as I do.

"The amount of useless and excess stuff is directly related to the amount of storage you have in your current residence.  The best way to reduce your excess inventory is to downsize your living arrangements!"  Bobby Tony Theorem 2018D (updated from 1969 life experience)

I learned this from experience but somewhere along the way I lost this gem of wisdom. In 1969 I was a homeless veteran who lived out of a 1965 Red VW with all my belongings in an Army Duffle Bag. Before anyone feels the need to feel sorry for me or doubt my condition, I must report that being homeless was the result of a divorce, and a bitter disagreement with my dad and anyone else who tried to get me off my pity wagon at the time.

This is not the VW that I owned but it is a reasonable example.  That VW was possibly the only car I ever owned that I don't have a picture of.  Perhaps it was because I was not terribly proud of my circumstances at the time.

While I don't recommend such a drastic thing as being homeless, perhaps it is time to do a walkabout the house and see what else should be in the EXCESS BIN.

I had a choice to make.
1. Venture into the debate with a strong opinion and alienate a whole bunch of people
2. Try to use a bit of humor to diffuse what was obviously going to be a very contentious debate and alienate a whole bunch of people

As it turns out, my crystal ball was a bit murky back in August, since I did not anticipate what would be the natural progression of events into the murky swamp that is Washington DC. In retrospect, it is apparent that "GUILTY" does not require much evidence and that may be the only thing I had right in my post below.

Thanks for your help B.T. on the Supreme Court. Brett said he could not have done it without you.
