Goose Creek State Park calendar of events for the month of May, 2012.

    Sunday, May 6, 2012       Wonders of Wildflowers Hike       2:00 pm

   Visit Goose Creek for the third of three wildflower hikes hosted this spring. We will be exploring approximately 1.5 miles of nature while looking for some of our park’s beautiful fauna and flora. This program will begin at the park Visitor Center.

    Sunday, May 13, 2012       Mallard Creek Hike       2:00 pm

    It’s spring, which also means the wildflowers are blooming. Please join us for the second of three spring wildflower walks. We will identify some of our wonderful butterfly attractants along with many other beautiful species. Meet at the park visitor center.

    Saturday, May 19, 2012       Palmetto Boardwalk Hike       2:00 pm

   The palmetto boardwalk gives you a close up view of a hardwood swamp transitioning into a marsh. It also contains tons of wildlife, fauna and flora. This amazing trek will begin at the park’s Visitor Center.

    Sunday, May 20, 2012       Sneaky Snakes       2:00 pm

   The coastal plain of North Carolina is home to many species of snakes. Come visit Goose Creek State Park as we reveal truth and dispel fiction about our slithering friends, and discuss ways to identify some of nature’s most misunderstood animals. There will be live snakes to view during the discussion followed by a hike where we may see snakes in their natural environments. Please meet at the park Visitor Center.

    Sunday, May 27, 2012       Civil War History       2:00 pm

   What a great weekend to learn about the triumphs and tragedies of our nation! Visit our park and learn about some of the local history that has been vital in the foundation of the United States of America. Meet the ranger in the River Access Parking Lot (#2).

Washington, N.C. – The inaugural Rivers East Advanced Manufacturing Academy took place at Pitt Community College on Friday, September 23rd.
Please join us at the park visitor center on Saturday, October 8th from 3-5 pm where we will host a Halloween Wildlife Event.
On Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at 3:00 p.m., N.C. House of Representatives Speaker Tim Moore, Representative Keith Kidwell, local elected officials and industry leaders will break ground
