Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

Carolina Panthers Daily News & Updates: 2/11/20

Should the Panthers Try To Trade for Ravens OT Orlando Brown? | Tim Weaver / Panthers Wire

Orlando Brown wants to play left tackle and only left tackle. That’s a problem for the Baltimore Ravens, who plan to put him back at right tackle once Ronnie Stanley returns from his ankle injury. Apparently Brown feels strongly enough about it to demand a trade, per Ian Rapoport at NFL Network.

Brian Burns Named Panthers' Most Improved Player in 2020 | Tim Weaver / Panthers Wire

Brian Burns was already a damn-good defensive end when the Panthers picked him in the 2019 NFL draft. He showed superstar potential as a rookie despite limited playing time and it didn’t take long for him to deliver on it. This past season, Burns elevated his game to an elite level — forcing himself into the conversation among the NFL’s top edge defenders.

Deshaun Watson: Is the Juice Worth the Squeeze for Panthers? | Dean Jones / Cat Crave

The Carolina Panthers would definitely be in the hunt for Watson given their intentions to get better at the quarterback position this offseason. They narrowly missed out on bringing Matthew Stafford to the franchise and although they’d have to give up an extraordinary amount to acquire Watson, getting an elite player at the position in his prime is something that would benefit them in no uncertain terms.

Panthers Begin Filling in the Blanks in Scouting Process | Darin Gantt / Panthers.com

The NFL just finished a season unlike any other, but pandemics don't have offseasons. That means the Panthers' preparations for the 2021 NFL Draft will continue to be unconventional, as their personnel department and coaching staff try to figure out how to fill in all the blanks during a spring without the normal opportunities to scout, evaluate, and even measure players they might want to pick.
