Photos from the incident showed at least four men were placed into handcuffs by law enforcement.

Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves said that 10 to 15 people were injured during the shooting and that none of the victims are believed to be children.

"I'm angry at what happened today," she said. "The people who came to this celebration should expect a safe environment. ... Because of bad actors ... this tragedy occurred, even in the presence of uniformed law enforcement officers."

Officials believe that the shooting was crime-related and was not an act of terrorism.

Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas said at a news conference that all the Chiefs' players, coaches, and staff were safe following the incident.

Governor Mike Parson's office released a statement following the incident.

"Governor & First Lady Parson were in attendance when shots were fired near Union Station in KC," his office said. "They are safe and secure. State law enforcement personnel are assisting local authorities in response efforts. As we wait to learn more, our hearts go out to the victims."

Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes posted on X: "Praying for Kansas City."
