    David Clifton "Robbie" Roberson, Jr., age 68, a resident of Washington, NC died Thursday September 9, 2021 at his home.

    Private services will be held at a later date.

    Robbie was born in Beaufort County on July 30, 1953 to David Clifton Roberson, Sr. and June Gardner Roberson. On May 14, 1983 he married Anne Alphin Schmidt. He was a 1971 graduate of Washington High School and a 1976 graduate of University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with a bachelor's degree in history. Robbie was the owner of Washington Tire until it closed. After Washington Tire he worked at Pugh's for 20 years and as long as his health allowed. He enjoyed golfing, boating, and reading history books.

    Survivors include his wife Anne Roberson of the home, a son, David Webster Sullivan of Washington, three stepchildren, William Schmidt and wife Katharin of Oregon, Shane Schmidt and wife April of Washington, Troy Schmidt of Missouri, three grandchildren, Ciara Schmidt, Austin Schmidt, Harrison Schmidt, his mother, June Roberson, and a brother, Alan Ross Roberson.

    He is preceded in death by his father David Clifton Roberson, Sr.
