    Mrs. Betsy Joyce Jones Woolard-Brame, age 85, a resident of Plymouth and a former resident of Washington, NC died Monday October 4, 2021 at her home.

    A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday October 8, 2021 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by Pastor Gary Bateman. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Timmy Cahoon, Dean Cahoon, Matt Woolard, Rudy Alvarado, Zach Martin and Adron Jones will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Roland Modlin, Jr., Kendall Wooten, and Kenny Paul.

    The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday October 7, 2021 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.

    Mrs. Betsy was born in Beaufort County on November 18, 1935, daughter of the late Jesse Alvin Jones and the late Esther Mae Hodges. She was a 1953 graduate of Chocowinity High School. On June 6, 1953 she married Frederick Carnell Woolard, Sr. who preceded her in death on January 5, 1984. On July 2, 1993 she married Guy Weston Brame who preceded her in death on February 24, 2002. Mrs. Betsy worked many years at Belk's of Washington as a custodian and was a faithful member of Alligood Church of God as long as her health permitted.

    Survivors include her children: Brenda Sue Cahoon (James) of Plymouth and Frederick Carnell Woolard, Jr. (April) of Washington; sister: Doris Carroll of Ocean Isle, NC; grandchildren: Timmy Cahoon (Lisa), Roland Modlin, Jr. (Carrie), Jamie Alvarado (Rudy), Ginny Martin (Zach), Ashley White, Dean Cahoon, Matt Woolard, Kayla Wooten, Kendall Wooten (Katelyn), and Rachel Woolard and great grandchildren: Walt Cahoon, Candace Clark, Dylan Modlin, Autumn Cahoon, Will Cahoon, Sierra Modlin, Adriana Alvarado, Grayson Martin, Ashton Alvarado, and Lawson Martin. Mrs. Betsy was predeceased, along with her parents, by a daughter: Joyce White and grandchildren: Jimmy Cahoon and Abbie Wayne White.

    Flowers are welcome and appreciated and the family kindly asks that any memorial contributions be made to Alligood Church of God, 1891 Mill Hole Road, Washington, NC 27889.
