Jonathan Felts, Senior Advisor for Ted Budd for US Senate, issued the following statement

News Release:

(Davie County)     Jonathan Felts, Senior Advisor for Ted Budd for US Senate, issued the following statement re: today's Tweet from Brian Murphy of the NC Insider (McClatchy Media) re: the results of the most recent Club for Growth survey re: the Republican primary for the US Senate in NC. The survey numbers indicated that the race is now a statistical dead heat between former Governor Pat McCrory and Ted Budd.

If we were in South Carolina, Governor McCrory would get ticketed for going too slow in the passing lane. The survey results announced today confirm what I said after the most recent FEC reports were posted. Ted Budd has all the momentum and is accelerating while former one-term Governor Pat McCrory is slowing down. Based on publicly available polling, McCrory's lead has shrunk from 36 points in April to only 3 points today (likely inside the margin of error). There will likely be a few outlandish outbursts from Governor McCrory between now and the primary, but it'll only be sounds of his imploding campaign's death rattles. This is the beginning of the end for the McCrory campaign and Ted Budd is going to drive the Liberal Agenda Crusher to victory in 2022.
