Given the news over the last week, sometimes it seems difficult to put our money, trust and lives into the hands of governmental bureaucrats who are seemingly more interested in getting and retaining power than serving the people.

We've seen this with the recent fallout over the derailment of a train carrying toxic chemicals in East Palestine, Ohio. The government is telling people the water and enviroment are safe, but many are skeptical.

Ohio Senator J.D. Vance went viral on Twitter after he demonstrated that shifting creek water a smidge results in an effect similar to that of an oil spill, which others have done as well.

There's also the whole Chinese spy balloon incident. Not only did the administration knowingly let the balloon traverse the entire United States, but it's now using $400,000 missiles from a $200 million jet to shoot down hobbyists' weather balloons costing about $12.

Given all of that, and much more, it's not a surprise government trust is at an all-time low.

This brings us to yeseterday, which was Presidents' Day. Though not a holiday that receives much attention, it's a great reminder that despite some of the challenging characters in the government today, the country has been blessed with many, many amazing leaders. Most notably Presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, for whom the day is named.

    Have a wonderful week!

Considering the renewed and unequalled dishonesty in elected politicians, at all levels of governing, and their associative nefarious bureaucrats doing their corrupt bidding: What is your opinion of YOUR government, and what do you intend to do about it?
Today's overall government is just fine, and I will continue to vote for politicians that make promises to suit my individual needs.
Today's overall government is poor, but I will continue to endeavor to learn what is true from the the most honest of media, and pick those representatives that best represent what is good and decent.
I spend quite a bit of time on Eastern NC NOW; so ... I am having a far easier time separating the proverbial "wheat from the chaff" in finding honorable citizens to support.
