Lance Reddick, ‘The Wire’ And ‘John Wick’ Star, Dead At 60 | Eastern North Carolina Now

    Actor Lance Reddick, who is best known for his work on HBO's "The Wire" and the movie franchise "John Wick," has died. He was 60 years old.

    TMZ reported that Reddick's body was found at his Studio City, California, home on Friday morning.

    The report said that law enforcement believes at this point that Reddick died of natural causes.

    Reddick was best known for playing Lt. Cedric Daniels on "The Wire," which is considered by some to be one of the top television shows of all-time.

    Reddick, who was born in Baltimore, began studying acting at an early age and went on to earn a degree from the Yale School of Drama. His first major break came in the 1990s when he was cast in HBO's prison drama "Oz." From there, Reddick went on to star in "The Wire," playing a straight-arrow cop in a city rife with crime and corruption. Reddick appeared in all 60 episodes of the series, and the role would define his career.

    Reddick was also seen in four late episodes of the ABC hit series "Lost" before landing the role of Phillip Broyles in "Fringe."

    Over the last decade, Reddick appeared in several major films, and was known for the role of assassin hotel manager Charon in "John Wick," a role played in all three of the film's sequels. He also notably appeared in "Godzilla vs. Kong," "Corporate," and "Resident Evil" in recent years.

    Reddick is survived by his wife, Stephanie Reddick, and his daughter from a previous marriage. Following the actor's death, a variety of Hollywood figures took to their social media accounts to pay tribute to his life and legacy.
