Elon Musk called out and poked fun at Democrats on Tuesday as former President Donald Trump faced arraignment in New York City.

Trump was arrested after surrendering himself to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg to face dozens of felony charges related to alleged hush money payments to porn actress Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election cycle. Many critics have characterized the case as politically motivated since no former commander-in-chief has ever faced criminal charges. Prosecutors claim that the alleged $130,000 hush money payment was an improper donation to the Trump campaign because the funds were used to stop an unfavorable story and thereby benefit his run for office.

Musk responded to a social media post from Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), who contended that Trump will "have a fair trial that follows the facts and the law" and exhorted Trump supporters to remain peaceful, with a warning that the American people will lose confidence in the justice system if prosecutions are viewed as political and one-sided.

"To avoid losing the trust of the American public, it is important that our justice system pursue Democrats and Republicans with equal vigor," Musk commented. "Whichever party most puts justice before nepotism is the one that deserves trust."

Musk, the chief executive of Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter, also shared a meme quipping that Democrats would travel back in time to kill Trump before his unexpected rise to political stardom if they had access to a time machine. He previously predicted that Trump would be reelected in a "landslide victory" following his arrest, especially if he were handcuffed.

Musk, a critic of many Biden administration economic policies, started what appears to be a political epiphany during the lockdowns that gripped the nation three years ago. He has since encouraged other Americans to "take the red pill" and noticed that leftists are "losing the middle" of the political spectrum, acquiring Twitter last year as an attempt to promote open dialogue.

Trump was charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records, all of which are the lowest-level felonies in the state, but each of which carries as many as four years in prison. Acting New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan, who previously imposed the maximum fine possible against the Trump Organization over a years-long tax evasion scheme and sentenced former Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg to five months in prison, will also preside over the hush money case.

Trump asserted that Merchan was "hand picked" by Bragg to preside over the case and said that Merchan "hates" him in a post to his social media platform Truth Social. Another all-caps post to Truth Social asserted that Merchan is "highly partisan" and contended that his family is composed of "well known Trump haters." He also called attention to the funds that leftist billionaire George Soros donated to multiple advocacy groups that supported Bragg's candidacy; Soros, who has publicly defended his efforts to bankroll the campaigns of progressive district attorneys, denied last week that he has any connection with Bragg.

Trump faces additional legal jeopardy in three other criminal proceedings, including a federal investigation into his efforts to stay in power after the 2020 election, an investigation in Georgia related to alleged meddling in the 2020 election, and another federal investigation into his handling of government records after leaving office.

Was it a judicious ploy for Joe Biden's FBI to execute the unprecedented raid of President Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate?
Yes; the Cheneys despise this former Republican president, and for good reason ... so they say.
No; never has a former president been treated with this level of vindictive abuse by those temporarily in power.
  Who cares? It's Trump.

Considering what many of the most revered legal experts of this age consider a political persecution by the infamous and ignoble New York District Attorney Alvan Bragg: Should the historic, unprecedented indictment of 45th President Donald Trump be considered as a benefit, or a liability to the sustainability of OUR Constitutional Republic?
Liability, our nation is in peril, as we are losing our "Rule of Law" integrity.
Benefit, losing our "Rule of Law" integrity is secondary to destroying Donald Trump.
I mostly worry about losing my Tik Tok.
