Several Washington High School seniors attended a College Round-Up event at Edgecombe Community College on Saturday, March 9, with Foreign Language teacher Phedora Johnson and English teacher Renee Basnight.

    Several Washington High School seniors attended a College Round-Up event at Edgecombe Community College on Saturday, March 9, with Foreign Language teacher Phedora Johnson and English teacher Renee Basnight. The event allowed students to be interviewed by a variety of colleges and universities, and to apply to schools free of charge. Two students were accepted on the spot by Shaw University in Raleigh, Derrick Bell and Marquest Jackson. Others are awaiting word from the schools to which they applied.
