    Join the Beaufort County Community College Foundation, Saturday, May 4, for a trip to Durham to see the award-winning stage production of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and enjoy a taste of the Australian outback.

    The trip will also include a wine-tasting and lunch at a popular Chapel Hill food emporium and restaurant.

    The cost of the trip, open to all BCCC students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the college, is $175 per person. The trip is limited to 16 participants so early registration is recommended.

    The price includes transportation to and from the Triangle, one meal and tickets for seats in the orchestra section for Priscilla, Queen of the Desert at the Durham Performing Arts Center in downtown Durham.

    The trip will leave the parking lot at BCCC by 8 a.m. and arrive at A Southern Season food emporium in Chapel Hill by 10:30 a.m. for an Australian wine-tasting. Once there, the group will sample five Australian wines and will receive a bottle of their favorite selection to take home.

    Following the tasting, participants will have lunch at the adjacent Weathervane Restaurant, one of Chapel Hill's most popular restaurants featuring its own take on Southern fare.

    After lunch, the group will travel to DPAC in Durham for a matinee performance of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, the Tony Award-winning musical about a trio of old friends who hop onboard a battered old bus searching for love and friendship in the middle of the Australian outback. With over 500 award-winning costumes, the musical features 1980s dance hits such as "It's Raining Men" and "I Will Survive."

    After the performance, participants will enjoy authentic Australian snacks on the ride back to Washington. The tour is scheduled to return to Washington around 7 p.m.
