Gerri Elizabeth Massey Whichard | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Gerri Elizabeth Massey Whichard, age 49, a resident of Chocowinity, NC died Saturday September 9, 2023, at her home.

    A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday September 14, 2023, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by (Name). The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour Thursday at the funeral home and other times at the home.

    Mrs. Gerri was born in Pitt County on October 13, 1973, daughter of the late Gerald Massey and Sharon Kay Hurst Buck who survives. She was a 1991 graduate of West Carteret High School and achieved an associate degree in environmental science at Beaufort County Community College. On May 1, 2011, she married William Whichard III who survives. She was the owner/operator of Gerri's House Cleaning Company in Chocowinity and worked part time at Wilco Hess Service Station in Chocowinity doing their accounting work. Gerri loved crafts, arts, and flowers but her greatest love was caring for her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

    Surviving along with her husband: William of the home and mother: Sharon Buck of Chocowinity; her children: Corey Massey of Chocowinity, U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Jeremy Massey and his wife Alexis of Chocowinity, and Marah Massey and her special friend Eddy of Chocowinity; sister: Candice Whichard of Chocowinity; grandchildren: Malia and Elena Massey; and niece and nephew: Chloe and Nolen Whichard.
