Northside High School AP History News | Eastern North Carolina Now

News Release:

Decades of the 20th Century

Northside High School was a bustle of activity as AP U.S. History students displayed their talent. A group of young and talented students from Kayla Maddox's AP U.S. History class put on quite a display in the school auditorium with their "Decades of the 20th Century" museum exhibit.

The exhibits included photographs, primary source documents, and even some genuine artifacts from the time period. As fellow peers piled in to view the displays, the students enthusiastically presented their research.

Several students visiting the exhibition gave feedback as they returned to class. "I saw a lot of hard work and effort," according to sophomore Carlton Peele. According to Jaquan Sessoms, a junior at NHS, "I thought it was very cool and the students knew what they were talking about." Cam Ambrose stated, "Ms. Maddox has some very smart kids and they excelled in excellence on the projects."

Tiana Harris, Haze Daw, and Nick Dana, both AP U.S. History students, best summarized the exhibition by stating it was an educational experience, not only for the students, but for the teachers as well.
(Left to Right) - Juniors Haley Cutler and Jenna Smith have big smiles over their satisfaction with the museum exhibit.
