A rocket fired by Islamic terrorists from inside Gaza landed very close to Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst this week in southern Israel.

"It appears there has been a direct impact," Yingst said on Friday. "This was not intercepted, it was a massive explosion."

He estimated that he was within 100 feet of where the rocket exploded near a kindergarten building.

"We're right along the Israel-Gaza border," he said. "This area has not been taking much fire recently, but we saw something coming off the Gaza Strip, sirens sounded. You have about 10 seconds to get to cover here."

He added that the rocket landed so close that the journalists were lucky they were not killed.

On Saturday, Yingst was embedded with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) as they went inside Gaza to root out the Hamas terrorists responsible for murdering 1,400 Israelis during last month's unprecedented terrorist attack.

"Right now, we're with the Israeli military in an armored personnel carrier," he said. "The Israelis have cut the Gaza Strip in half. They've fought their way to the Mediterranean Sea and encircled Gaza City. They're waiting now for the orders to go further in."

During various points in the segment, gunfire could be heard in the not-too-distant background.
