    Raleigh, NC     Governor Pat McCrory announced the following appointments today:

    North Carolina Auctioneers Commission

    Moses Gallion (Harnett County) - Gallion is a part-time auctioneer residing in Harnett County. In addition, he is marketing director at Brent Adams & Associates Law Firm in Dunn. He currently serves as the secretary of the North Carolina Auctioneers Association.

    The commission protects the public from incompetent or unqualified persons engaging in auctioneer activities. They are charged with preventing deceitful practices, willful misrepresentation and dishonest dealings by auctioneers in the state. Each term length is three years.

    North Carolina General Statutes Commission

    Bill Constangy (Mecklenburg County) - Constangy is a superior court judge for the 26th Judicial District of the Seventh Division of the Superior Court, serving Mecklenburg County. Prior to being elected to that position, he served as a district court judge for 20 years.

    Mike Mitchell (Wake County) - Mitchell is a partner at the law firm Smith Anderson in Raleigh. He has more than 20 years of trial and appellate experience in state and federal courts and has received several awards for his experience in business litigation.

    ​The commission studies state laws to determine the need for statutory changes, with a special focus on Uniform and Model Acts recommended by the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws and the American Law Institute. Members are authorized to recommend proposed changes to the General Assembly. Each term length is two years.

    North Carolina Boxing Authority

    Dixon Fleming Jr. (Rowan County) - Fleming is managing principal and a general partner for Core Point Capital and Core Point Partners. He is a member of the investment committee for Core Point Partners in Atlanta, GA. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for Alliance Precision Plastics Corp.

    ​The authority's purpose is to protect the safety and well-being of participants in boxing and to promote the public confidence and trust in the regulatory process and the conduct of boxing. Each term length is three years.

    North Carolina State Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners

    Morris Boswell (Alamance County) - Boswell is the cosmetology department chair at Guilford Technical Community College. He owned a hair studio prior to starting at the school 12 years ago. He has been reappointed to serve another three-year-term as the cosmetology instructor.

    The board examines and determines the qualifications and fitness of applicants for licensure under this chapter, as well as issues, renews, denies, suspends and revokes licenses. The board also approves new cosmetic art schools, along with any other necessary actions that must be carried out. Each term length is three years.
