System Pressure Advisory!

The water consumers of Beaufort County Southside in District VII will experience outages and periods of low pressure in the distribution system as a result of water line repairs, Tuesday, August 13th from 9:00 in the morning through 7:00 in the evening.

The outage will affect all Beaufort County Water customers east of Aurora and includes customers on Bay City Rd. north of West Rd., Royal Highway, Spring Creek Rd., Vinegar Hill Rd, Terrerton Rd., Whealton Point Rd., Indian Island Rd., NC Highway 33 east of South Creek and all feeder or intersecting roads. Periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increases the potential for back siphonage and introduction of bacteria into the water system.

Therefore, the Water System advises that when water is restored consumers boil all water used for human consumption (including drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation) or use bottled water.

Vigorous boiling for one (1) minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.

This office is strongly urging the water consumers to conserve water whenever possible. This advisory remains in effect until further written notification is issued.

The Beaufort County Water Department apologizes for the inconvenience and appreciates your patience.

Here is the map of the affected area.
