    Mr. Walter Glavin Buck, age 73, a resident of Chocowinity, NC died Tuesday February 25, 2025, at his home.

    A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday March 8, 2025, at Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Chocowinity officiated by Pastor David Linton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

    Mr. Buck was born in Beaufort County on July 6, 1951, son of the late Walter Arlie Buck and the late Bernice Evelyn Harper. He was a 1971 graduate of Chocowinity and served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard. On April 19, 1971, he married the former Janice Faye Carrow who survives. He retired from Weir Valve Corporation as an x-ray technician. Mr. Buck was a very competitive person who was an avid black powder shooter with North-South Skirmish Association and loved competing in the sport of bowling. He was a member of Men of Action Church of God Missions where he cooked for their mission trips and was a member of Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Chocowinity.

    Surviving along with his wife Janice are his daughters: Jennifer Buck-Nichols and her husband Buddy of Chocowinity and Jaime Buck Conner and her husband Tracey of Chocowinity; sisters: Mary Garris and her husband Phil of Washington and Juliette Sykes and her husband Joe of Washington; grandchildren: Katilyn Pecher and her husband Wyatt, Victoria Buck, Jessica Conner, Jonathan Conner and his wife Liz, and Patrick Conner and his wife Stephanie; and great grandchildren: Samantha, Walter, Ellie Anna, Wesley, and Harli. Mr. Buck was predeceased, along with his parents, by a brother Marty Buck.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, Missions Fund, P.O. Box 38, Chocowinity, NC 27817 or to the cancer organization of one's choice.
