    Raleigh, NC     The Office of Governor Pat McCrory announced the following direct appointments today:

    District Court Judge for 21st Judicial District

    Gordon A. Miller (Forsyth County) – Prior to his appointment, Miller spent nearly 40 years in private practice trying cases in criminal, domestic and civil courts in Forsyth and other nearby counties. Miller is a graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law. He is replacing Judge William B. Reingold, who is retiring.

    Superior Court Judge for Judicial District 30A

    William H. Coward (Macon County) – Prior to his appointment, Coward worked as an attorney with the firm Coward, Hicks & Siler for more than 25 years. He has also served for 15 years as the town attorney for Highlands, NC. Coward is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law. He is replacing Judge James U. Downs, who is retiring.
