Another doctors group switches position on transing kids, now opposes it | Eastern NC Now

Another major medical association has switched its position to opposition to using surgery and drugs for "gender transitioning" of children.  This comes from finally accepting the results of a landmark scientific study on the issue.

In 2024, the Cass Report, a scientific study of "gender affirming care" was released and it showed the harm to children of these procedures. Among other things, it found that most gender confused children will grow out of that gender confusion naturally. The UK's government health service, the National Health Service, responded to the study by directing that their doctors not recommend even new names or pronouns to gender confused children, and certainly no surgery or drugs.

However, that initially was not good enough for the British Medical Association, which rejected the findings of the Cass Report.  Now, with new leadership, that has changed and the British Medical Association has done a U-turn and embraced the findings and recommendations of the report.

Last month, another major scientific study, based on a massive amount of data, came out of Finland on gender confused children.  It found that Psychological problems including suicide were more likely for gender confused children that had "gender confirming care" than those who did not.
