Anthony Theodore “Ted” Fraune, Jr. | Eastern NC Now

    Anthony Theodore "Ted" Fraune, Jr., 81, died Saturday September 12, 2026 at his home in Washington, NC, after a long illness. He was a gentle, selfless man, trusted and admired by all who knew him.

    Born in Greensboro, NC in January, 1945, Ted enjoyed a long career working as the accounts manager at STE Hackney, Inc., where he made many close and lasting friends.

    He is survived by his wife, Carol, two sons, Anthony Theodore "Trey" Fraune, III (Fran), Charles Donnell Fraune (Theresa) and a sister, Deborah Ann Humphrey (Willie). He is also survived by a niece, Kimberly Morton Andrews (Jerry), a nephew, Eric Morton and six grandchildren, Weldon, Perry, Mary, Christian, Rose and Bernadette Fraune, as well as a grandniece, Haley Canupp and grandnephew, Hayden Andrews.

    Ted was a faithful member of Mother of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, where he served in the Knights of Columbus and also St. Vincent de Paul Society's food bank.

    Both for herself and on behalf of Ted, Carol gives special thanks for the care and support provided by Jesse Tetterton and Linda Windley.

    A funeral mass will be held 2:00PM Wednesday September 23, 2026 at Mother of Mercy Roman Catholic Church on. A private interment will be held at a later date.

    Contributions may be made to Mother of Mercy Roman Catholic Church.
