Governor Pat McCrory announced today that attendance at North Carolina's state parks set a new record in 2015. More than 17.3 million people visited the state's 39 parks, up from 15.6 million the previous year, according to the N.C. Division of Parks and Recreation.

The North Carolina Council of State unanimously approved an agreement today that will sell the 300 acre-plus Dorothea Dix campus to the City of Raleigh for approximately $52 million. The agreement was reached by the McCrory Administration and City of Raleigh earlier this year.
