-For thousands of years this was the way to travel the world, by boat.

Buzz I don’t mean to be harsh or rash but your speech illustrates the crux of the issue. If your faith is in Our Lord Jesus Christ then hallelujah, amen. We are indeed brothers, children of the Lord.

And as children growing in the way, we are nurtured on milk when we are young, but meat as we mature.

“To love thine enemy as thyself” is an example of milk.

A like example of meat would be:

I do agree that there is an attack on Christianity, it has been under attack since the beginning because it is not of this world.

You made the statement:

Reprisal from who? The government? Society? Islamic terrorists? Fact is, one who follows Jesus the world or should I say “reality” is against. We worship the Lord that men hung on a cross. The servant is not greater than the master.

The problem now is the cult like phenomenon of people associating Trump;Christ;God;Merica. It’s borderline if not outright blasphemous to make any such association because the man does not have a clue what the Bible says. He might can quote something out of it as anyone can but what does it say, he ain’t got the first notion.

Reducing costs and saving money is a good thing but it can also be a bad thing if costs are cut where they are actually needed.

Destroying things the people need in order to “save” money, but at the same time wasting more money than was saved on things the people do not need.

This is how we end up with huge government incomes and expenditures, bloated bureaucracies, and a body of government that does not protect or benefit the people whatsoever.

The students coming out of schools have limited knowledge and even worse critical thinking skills. This is directly cause by unstructured learning environments and the institution of high technology in the classroom. If we have devices that do all our thinking then we shall not be able to think for ourselves. The truth is self evident, and is the enemy of the reasoning of men.

I have to sympathize with Bobs point of view on this issue with The Elon Musk. It is a fairly strange situation. I understand Elon is brilliant and the whole government efficiency things sounds great, but let’s just imagine the optics if the script was flipped, and we had Kamala with Zuckerberg or Gates at her side. I wouldn’t be comfortable with that arrangement myself.

That is the danger of government in it tends to sway left to right. Progressively, the swaying becomes more and more extreme until it eventually topples.

Washingtonian I’m sure you’re probably right. I’m not too studied up on water treatment engineering, give me a few weeks to look into it and I could figure it out, but it just seems like a water treatment plant should treat the water effectively. If it’s not, we should know why.

And a sewage treatment plant dumping into the river just doesn’t sound good whether the water was treated or not, I’m sure it was probably an emergency due to flooding but still.

Mr. Alligood seems like a top-notch county manager. He’s on top of things. 👍

I can imagine what Hood said is true about people not paying the sewer bill. Forget to pay lights or water it’ll get shut off to remind you haha but kinda hard to shut off the drain for nonpayment. Would have to be something that was included in the property tax.

We should investigate how to get these water treatment plants up to par at the very least. The one in Belhaven obtained a permit from NCDEQ to dump into the creek last year, leading to a “no swim” advisory.

I know someone who lab tested the tap water in Belhaven; they said “don’t drink it”. I wonder what all the restaurants use?

Somewhere, someone, was aware of this issue awhile back. This deed was written back in 1968, but was finally put into effect and uploaded back in July. Effectively redrawing the GIS, splitting the property.

It’s just incompetence all the way around. Big Frank told you himself he decided to stay out of it.

He would rather let a hired cabbage patch kid superintendent steer the ship, than provide the oversight he was elected to provide.

The county commissioners have the power of the purse. Yet they decided to stay out of a land acquisition, handing the wallet and bargaining power to a spending junkie.

As far as the land swap aspect of this situation that could have occurred without a monetary cost for the property, the process of contacting all of the heirs of Kugler Field to sign an amendment, was too much of a undertaking, even for Cheese. Simply easier to spend half a million, than to get 20 signatures.
