One of our major problems is finding people that have common sense, management ability and integrity. Many qualified people are reluctant to expose themselves or their families to the mudslinging and hostility that define today’s political climate. We need to find some of these qualified people and let them know we are behind them and need their help. There are more elections coming up. We need to find good candidates. We need better choices when we go to the polls. “Change the method, change the results”.

Yet we have "Nuts" out there that claim the holocaust never happened. I think that many of our young people never even hear of the holocaust. Few know anything about the Second World War. I was six years old when Pearl Harbor was bombed. My family manned and Observation Post to spot airplanes for the Army in Blounts Creek during the war. I saw the News Reels when our soldiers walked into Auschwitz-Birkenau – the Death Factory of the Holocaust. This was not Hollywood or AI. This was black and white film of realism. Neither do most of our youth know anything about D-Day or the battles across the Philippine Islands. This history is a memorial to freedom. We need to teach the preservation of that freedom and hand that God played in it.

The US is now 26 in education. Largely because of these various unions and political pressure to keep the bureaucrats in power. Go Woke and go broke. Go woke and go stupid. Soon we will have to have artificial intelligence because we will have very little human intelligence. Look in our own backyard.

You remember from animal farm, "All pigs are equal, but some are more equal than others". But don't worry. Will Rodgers said, "We have the best politicians money can buy." Maybe Voltaire said it best, "History is only the pattern of silken slippers descending the stairs to the thunder of hobnail boots climbing upward from below". Let's pray that we can all wake up and help find, recruit, and elect competent people to lead us at our local, State and Federal Governments. An informed public would really help this.

Most of the anti-gun fanatics do not know one gun from another. Take the old Mini 14 (That was classed as a ranch rifle that farmers would through in the back of their pickup truck to shoot varmints, is the same basic barrel, mechanism, guts and bullet size as these so called Assault weapons) It was dressed up with handles, sights and accessories to make it more attractive, but the same basic weapon. Next they should compare the bullet size to the basic 22 plinker. Not too much bigger. I know I’ll get push back from all of the “No Gun group” and some experts, but go check it out. I still have one of each.

Joe Davis is a business man and has some for site. Beaufort County is losing population. What could help? Our very mishandled and deteriorated School system could be corrected so that we could become the bedroom community for Greenville. Schools are the first thing that young couples look for to move into a community. As for retirees, we need GP's and convenience. Where are the jobs? Warren Field was to become the Drone development center for the East Coast. What an opportunity with the new demand for more war machinery and the interest in Drone development for law and private industries. What happened? Drumman came sniffing around after the air-port expansion. Who followed up? What a chance for jobs. We have 25 boat builders in a 35 mile radius of Washington. Are we taking advantage of this opportunity? Chocowinity has an industrial park with a rail track running through it. This is like water-front property for heavy industry. They can't get together on what to do with it.
