The very idea that you had a Martin and a Gibson is so cool. I have always had poorly named guitars, so, I am very impressed by your past possessions.

You and I might should hook up and write some country songs. How much do you know about: drinking, cheating, lost dogs and football?

I speak from experience: Sometimes, there is just absolute defeat, and then all you can do is regather what is left, and deal with your wounds until you regain your strength.

And only then if you have the spirit of a Viking.

I sometimes I believe that the strains of my Norse heritage has served me well, or been my bane.

I would not be surprised if Adam did not have a bit of it himself.

The guitar itself is an enigma, and has its own trademark sound that could never be duplicated. I believe the cause to be the gaping hole in the sound chamber, the box of the guitar.

When I was a young hippie taking in many shows, I judged bands on how well they performed in concerts.

Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, James Taylor, the Eagles, the Moody Blues, the Allman Brothers were always great. Alice Cooper and Jimmy Buffett not so great, actually, not very good at all. To me, Jimmy Buffet is just a washed up lounge act that people, who have no concept of good music, love to listen to.

Recently, I just saw Jewel in a small theater in Durham, just her and her guitar. Overall, she was far better than her recordings.

Her voice, her soulful attitude, her commitment to message was remarkable, and it may be one of the best shows I have ever seen, and I saw all of the above great bands when they were in their prime.

I generally gauge my opinion of politicians by their treatment of the Constitution that they are sworn to defend.

You are right sir, there is no substitute for talent and the desire to discover that talent.

Thanks for bringing Clapton into the discussion. He is one of the most interesting musicians from our generation. "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs" will always be my favorite Rock'n'Roll /Blues Album. It is a work of art.

Hussein Obama is leaving the new president a mess to clean up; much of it by executive order or through the U.N.

John Kerry's sophistic explanation of the Obama betrayal of Israel as good foreign policy is emblematic of a presidency that accomplished so little, but now is working overtime, while this president enjoys yet another Hawaiian vacation, to disrupt, divert and dissolve a proper presidential path for President-elect Trump.

No honeymoon for the new guy, and what is cool here: President Trump will probably use all these unprincipled political hurdles to his advantage, a political judo of sorts, to hone a presidency that will have to perform to sustain any momentum against an unprincipled Democrat media.

I predict that the unproven, unpolished and despised (by Liberals /Socialists) new president will either fold into a miserable mess or will make history as the finest president since Ronald Reagan.
