Stan: A celebration of corruption. An apt phrase. When a leftist fanatic sees the stick of corruption welded on his enemies, he is fine with that. It's different if the situation is reversed. A patriot hates the corruption no matter who that power stick is hitting.

Commented on What is wrong with a conservative curriculum?Stan: You've demonstrated just how difficult it is to have constructive conversation with the extreme left. In most cases its actually impossible. How do you reason with someone with the position that student success is a 'white' thing? What understanding can you come to with people that favor inclusion of all EXCEPT for the people not in their echo chamber that have to be EXCLUDED, canceled and discredited as horrible things they are not! There can be no meeting of the minds in that scenario. That's the game they play - division. Its division and disruption, not making things better.

Of course, Dale Folwell is the best of the bunch in this election for governor. That is a given especially when comparing records.
But, I thought I could hold my nose and vote for Robinson in the general election if need be. But no. All that's off. When Robinson endorsed AGAIN for the least conservative in the NC District 3 Senate race that did it! He should have stayed out of Eastern Carolina business. Now it's Folwell or third party for me. Now it's Speciale or nothing for me. Get Phil Burger's hand out of Eastern Carolina!

Commented on What is wrong with a conservative curriculum? The extreme left has lost its mind with their brains saturated in Marxism. Eight of thirteen Beaufort County Schools rate a D by the DPI, and 70 percent of the children in Beaufort County are not at reading and math levels.
The divisive racist left-wing loons interpret those facts as a white man's fairy tale. Wow. Racism comes in lots of flavors, and they all taste bad. What should we call the lie that those facts are not true? How about Sodom and Gomorrah. Successful students are good for everybody. Dividing our community up into hostile camps is not good for anybody.

Folwell's primary opponent has a great record as an orator. Dale Folwell has a tremendous record of ACTION resulting in good governance. I really hate to lose him as Secretary of Treasury, but I look forward to his service as North Carolina Governor.
There's no one in this race even close to Folwell when comparing record of service - from either party.

Commented on The RINO NetworkAll I know is I'm tired of the Republicans I vote for being crucified by the official party. It is widely known that local party officers publicly attack conservative Republican office holders all the time. It's incredible that they do that and then ask us to write THEM a check to fund the RINO party that is working against me and my family.

Why are the posters that are spewing hate in the comments so concerned about this board resolution. It doesn't make sense that the only board members that have been classroom teachers themselves are being portrayed as against the teachers. It actually seems like those particular board members tried to take the high ground in this stunt scenario.
I believe all this hate is coming from people with a real nasty agenda. There is a lot more going on here than meets the eye. Of course, the real issue here is the nothing burger resolution itself being used as political grandstanding in an official meeting.

So they used an official school board meeting to protect 'teachers' from the campaign issues being directed at the board members up for re election. Then they say the 'teachers' are so confused that they think the letter is from the school board. What? Most of the teachers I know are pretty smart. They can surely read a return address on a letter. With all due respect, this is kind of a weak premise.
I guess that's one way to get a free campaign ad.

Commented on School Board seeks to hide behind teachers and staffStan: I have to agree that the fake entity (NRL) really earned banishment. I appreciate spirited debate, but I also despise dishonesty and hatefulness. People like that can be dangerous and destructive in so many ways.
Maybe they should consider counseling.

Commented on School Board seeks to hide behind teachers and staffWell. Such vitriol. Let's consider the very first post by Not Ray Leary. It had three points. This is my response to all three.
1- Nobody that really knows the three conservative school board members being referenced would believe that they received talking orders from anybody. They are all independent minded, strong willed, intelligent, Christian men. 2- I highly doubt any one of the three conservative board members are in the PAC in question or any other PAC. Considering the resolution not mentioning the PAC itself - Did NRL even know what was being discussed? Mr. Hickman's whole point was centered around WHEREAS number 6, referring to the political letter. Listen to the tape. 3. Labeling the three conservative board members being attacked as puppets is far-fetched. The racist charge directed toward them is just plain dishonest meanness. It is mighty likely that NRL is someone with an agenda.

Commented on School Board seeks to hide behind teachers and staffThink about this. Firebrand said that an election campaign letter is election interference. Fidel Castro would be proud of you Firebrand. That kind of thinking is how Saddam Hussein used to get 99 percent of the vote.

I'm really trying to understand why the local party thinks they can take away someone's ex officio membership. I've looked at some of the rules people keep referring to and still do not see it. So, I requested some help from someone with experience as a district chairman and service on several state Republican committees.
First off, he said that according to the state plan of organization, under Administrative procedure, "When an ex officio member of a Committee ceases to hold the office that ENTITLES him to such membership, his membership terminates automatically." So, we then looked at the county plan of organization. It stated, "Elected officials SHALL be ex officio members of the Beaufort CEC [County Executive Committee], with rights to be recognized to speak or debate but not to vote." I then asked him about the Forfeiture of Official Privileges section of the county plan of organization where it states, "Any current or former officer or Member of a Precinct Committee or County Executive Committee who, for any reason, is removed or resigned from said position shall forfeit all rights and privileges in any way connected with that position." I asked would that apply in any way in this particular situation? On that he said, an ex officio member SHALL be there because of his elected office. He has the right to exorcise that right or not. That's his or her choice. Putting all this together with the actual minutes of the Beaufort County Executive Committee meeting, where the Commissioner only resigned his voting at large position anyway, makes it look bad for the local committee. They are clearly abusing their power and going to extreme lengths to drive conservatives out of the party.

I guess I'll reluctantly wade into the vitriol. Is the letter everyone is talking about in connection with the said resignation from the executive committee? If so, that was addressed in a previous comment containing a link to the event in executive committee minutes.
In the Beaufort County Republican Party Executive Committee Minutes on October 12, 2021, it is stated like this: "Hood Richardson resigned from his position as a voting member of the Executive Committee but that he shall continue to exercise his Executive Committee members privileges as an elected Republican in BC and still desires to be notified of all Executive Committee meetings." With all that then why is Commissioner Richardson not being extended his status as an ex-officio member? It seems to me a lot of this argument is silly. In an instance like this, the only way to lose ex-officio status is to no longer be a public official or no longer be a precinct chairman. Mr. Rader made a very valid point about the dire situation we are facing in our state and country. It is a real shame the Republican Party seems incapable and unwilling to rise to the challenges before us.

It is also no shock that the far-left anonymous troll on this site would find points of alignment with the present incarnation of the BC Republican Party.

I agree with one thing the so called 'truthful agitators' are saying. The voters ARE watching what is going on in Beaufort County. What Beaufort County residents with half a working brain see is a bitterly divided county Republican Party led by haters. They hate conservatives. They hate most natives. They hate the truth. They have utter distain for the party platform. They disregard procedures and rules, and they are capable of damned near anything.
When they want to exclude people from their clique, they will say or do whatever it takes to do it. In the case of HR, they can't stand having him in the party, so they make up some claptrap story about how an ex-officio member can be excluded. Here's reality: Ex-officio members cannot be legitimately excluded, because they are there because of their position as ELECTED Republicans. Those ex-officio folks DO have a right to participate in the meetings, make motions and engage in discussions. They cannot vote unless they have been elected by the convention or by special election by the executive committee between conventions. Hood is not the only local Republican being shunned by the present-day leadership cult. In the last convention they made controversial and hotly contested special rules so as to be able to cast off the people they don't like. That was a hostile departure from the wise practices set up by better leaders from the past. They also have special rules for themselves - which means they pretty much have NO rules for themselves! There are too many examples of that to bother listing. Fact is, there are 4X4 truckloads of examples of the backstabbing and hatefulness. Don't believe me? Just ask some of the long-gone people that USED to be active in the local party what they think. There is an extended list of those folks.

It is no wonder so many local Methodists Churches have left the United States Methodist Church and opted to fall under the dominion of the much more fundamental African Methodist Church that has not given up basic Christianity in favor of embracing neo-Marxism.
The attack on words and word meanings as well as inventing words is one of the most diabolical attacks on civilization ever devised. ![]()
