And, Beaufort County Commissioner Hood Richardson is the problem here; the really bad guy in these foreseeable calamities in the making.

This reminds of Central Committee governing by directive of blame, rather than consideration of what is real within our community of Beaufort County.

Steve Rader: Thank you for being there at Snowden.

Your wisdom did fill up the room, and most people listened, just not the School Board Zombies ... All except Charles Hickman ... That guy is a great representative of his constituents.

Van Zant: The "Snowden deal" is done. The Center /Left - Left county commissioners, not one Real Republican among them, have acquiesced to the Bureaucrat Class.

My question is this: How can 64% of Beaufort County vote for Donald Trump, yet we have 4 Center /Left - Left Democrats on the Board of County Commissioners?

Answer: The Beaufort County GOP.

Yes, and I also remember "Gordon Solie," but I still do not know of "kayfabe."

John Valley, I truly agree with both of these last comments of yours; however, I have no idea what Kayfabe means.

What I do know fairly well is that NO one gets smarter from spending copious time on Fakebook, and I am most happy you agree with me on that one.

I left Fakebook in summer of 2020, when Zuckerberg found himself totally compliant to the will and whim of the Non Patriot Left, and I questioned myself: How stupid am I to use my valuable time to "build-out" Mark Zuckerberg's website just to destroy the Patriot President, Donald J. Trump?

Van Zant: If that be the case - the 3 minute comment format; the bureaucrats keeping their mouths pleasantly and mostly shut is fairly standard.

RINO Hunter: If it was the one public hearing required by law, it was a very strange one, most unlike any county commissioner open hearing I have participated in during my nearly 25 years on the board.

John Valley, there are many audiences out there, and some know more than others.

Last night, Center/Left Commissioner Randy Walker suggested political governing by viral Facebook. Now, one thing I do know: the knowing of things for the Facebook crowd is of a lower echelon.

Randy Walker subscribes to this level of intellect. I do not. Neither does Hood. Neither does nearly every parent with school age children, nor do the greater propensity of Beaufort County taxpayers.

The taxpayers of this Republic are fortunate that this wrongful death was not more than 5 million.

The so-called Insurrection has cost this nation tens of billions of investigatory dollars, while the crime wave, fomented by the Non Patriot Left, has swept this nation costing our taxpayers hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars, and thousands of deaths just during the Biden Administration alone. Where was the FBI during this extreme surge of anti social, psychopathic and sociopathic behavior during the incredibly failed administration of the Idiot President - Joseph R. Biden (or was it Hunter)?

The Democratic Socialists' Insurrection cost the capital less than a million dollars, and NO deaths.

Do the math People! Why would any Right thinking person ever vote for the political /governing intellect of a Democratic Socialist, or a RINO for that matter, ever again?

Thanks for the history lesson Rino Hunter; information well remembered; good to know for the rest of our readers.

Borderhawk: Roberts is compromised, and will go down in history as one the worst Republican appointees of all time.

Republican Presidents need to vet their appointments far more stringent Democratic Socialist senators, or the Democratic Socialist Propagandistic Media, when making appointments.

The Non Patriot Left will employ whatever necessary to destroy this Constitutional Republic.

I have a quick and easy, well considered approach to the Democratic Socialists' cry for their faux "due process:" Either treat these Illegals as Illegal Aliens, with their immediate "due process" deportation; or, give the Illegals their Non Patriot Left ordered "due process," and then indict, prosecute, and punish the entire Biden Administration responsible for aiding and abetting, as treasonous traitors, for this open facing, premeditated invasion of our borders in federal criminal court.

Then go to the civil courts after certain victory, and sue to take everything of value from these treasonous traitors, their families and other, be they Democrat, "Republican," or politically Independent co-conspirators to help pay for this immense ongoing cost to our innocent American People.

For some of the lead conspirators that sought to damage and defraud the United States of America for profit, be it political or otherwise, life in prison and, or the death penalty would NOT be off the prosecutorial table.

It is truly a fair tradeoff: Due process for Illegals as a trade for Due Process for the seriously damaged American People.

Smart, wise justice is what this Constitutional Republic deserves, and it deserves it NOW.

The Center/Left Commissioners and School Board Members (remarkably, the vast majority of whom are registered as Republicans) are moving toward closing Snowden School in Aurora.

Killing off another community school is no way to run a county school system in a county the geographically immense size of Beaufort County.

It is remarkable how one vote, sometimes two votes in local government reveals who the political players truly are, and how they work as a coalition.

On the Beaufort County Board of Commissioners, there are three Republicans: Commissioners Hood Richardson; Stan Deatherage and Tandy Dunn, and then there is the Center/Left (2 commissioners) - Left Coalition (2 commissioners) Coalition, in relative order, those members of this voting coalition are Frankie Waters, Randy Walker (wife is a school board member), Jerry Langley and Ed Booth (wife is a school board member).

The Center/Left - Left Coalition is comprised of county commissioners, who routinely swap votes to share power here in Beaufort County

John Valley: Actually, Hood has been in a classroom within the last 5 years (he was with me). Hood was simply making an awkward point, which is this point: A commissioner being in a classroom does not matter; being a smart commissioner does matter.

I digress, John, you keep mentioning Charter Schools as if the Center/Left governs wisely; ergo, the Left and the Center/Left do not embrace School Choice or Charter Schools. I have proved in before in open session, I will probably prove it again.

John, The Center/Left and the Left will never change. One will never broker some grand compromise on taking money away from traditional Charter Schools. Change comes from winning elections.

I have known this for over two decades, and now President Trump is proving my point in a resounding manner.

Washingtonian: All school buildings come back to the county commissioners as a first right of refusal situation, where we could buy the school building back as cheaply as would be possible.

If I was in the majority of Right-Thinking-Majority, the smart plan would to buy all school buildings back, and then decrease what the schools are given the next year so it is a hypothetical wash.

Then keep the school buildings to sell or lease to possible charter schools, and, or possible private schools.

This would help all concerned, especially the public schools, those that absolutely need whatever impetus there is available to learn to manage far more efficiently.

John: Your comment here is to the Beaufort County School Board and the Center/Left - Left Coalition of the Beaufort County Commissioners. "Randy Walker" is member of the Center/Left - Left Coalition of the Beaufort County Commissioners.

His wife is on the School Board.

These Center/Left - Left politicians are NOT in favor of charter schools anywhere in Beaufort County.

Commissioners Hood Richardson and Stan Deatherage, who are heavily in favor of School Choice as a fine alternative to make education more real, and Tandy Dunn, by his votes, may well join us in that School Choice paradigm, have proven to know what is probably best for education here in Beaufort County ... certainly more than the current administration.

Spending more and more and more tax dollars on public education will not insure a better educated student. Beaufort County is in the upper echelon here in North Carolina on per student expenditures, yet we are told that it is not enough.

School buildings built will not insure a better educated child. On the other hand, a school building withdrawn, made obsolete by managerial neglect, will insure that a community school is forever lost, a local education, as time within a childhood well spent, can never be regained by forcing children up and down the highway on buses for hours every school day.

There is the "human element" right there lost, forever lost, by making continual bad decisions over and over and over again by an absent school board here in Beaufort County.

I see poor management first hand; I hear about such much, much more.

A prime example of such is your comedians are NO longer funny.

I was just using your steadfast commentary as a pivoting segue to what I wanted to talk about: The budget hearing; the Center-Left Coalition, and their truly refined BS originating in favor of the Bureaucrat Class, and all that they are allowed to control.

John Steed: It is always about the money, because without taxpayer's hard taxes collected, the Non Patriot Left would have no reason to exist.

I sat through a meeting commissioners' budget meeting Tuesday night, where the Center-Left Coalition, those who swap votes to share power here in Beaufort County's Government, are working themselves into a Leftist frenzy to close a school in perfectly good condition to build a mega school, one in which we do not need, at the lowest point of the land, land that BCSs did not entirely own; the management of which could not be bothered to order a title search until it was TOO LATE.

It is moving toward 4 months now since I have asked for a copy of that "TOO LATE Title Search," from every authority available, and this duly elected county commissioner can NOT get a copy of it. At every turn, I have been stopped in retrieving what was never done in a timely manner, for huge expenditures that never needed to be made, not in my fiscally balanced world of management.

One has only to intellectually move an inordinately small distance to wonder: Why are the Leftist Center-Left Coalition, administering Beaufort County's government, and a Leftist Beaufort County Schools' administration now asking for more and more taxpayer's treasure to keep a school system afloat, one with a dwindling student population, so they may remain viable in a condition that they have become well accustomed?

Could the answer just be terrible management ... With the public's money?

John, it is always about the inordinate need for the public's money for Leftists, without which the Left would NOT exist.

Beaufort County Government's Center-Left Coalition will probably reward the School Board and their Fearless Leader no matter what information is brought to bear.

Both groups of politicians are consumed with always making bad decisions ... Bad decisions only.

Such Frightening prospect for this Republic that this Fat Fool has any degree of governing responsibility.

Van Zant: I am in full agreement, except one thing: We need heavy industry wherever we can site it.

Also, I believe there are places where we need Heavy Industrial, where we can provide important jobs for people who want to learn how to do stuff by making stuff.

The spirit of this society is being destroyed, hollowed out by this idea that the USA is a service oriented economy, almost exclusively so.

Van Zant: Since I am a county commissioner; I cannot make the decision as to whether to leave a school open or close it; however, I will never vote to spend any county tax dollars for its replacement.

If I was a member of the school board, it would be a wise understanding that 3 strong votes on this board understands stewardship of the county treasury as well as I do, and once we gain that 4th vote, a 4th Real Republican on this board of county commissioners, there will be many changes.

There will be DOGE here in Beaufort County.

I truly loved watching yet another corrupt Democratic Socialist lawyer take this hit; however, I am sure this corrupt "keeper of the law' is "above the law" to whatever corrupt Democratic Socialist judge is picked to adjudicate this Democratic Socialist judge's case.

Amendus: This deportation period is a sticky wicket, since these Illegals were aided and abetted by the Traitorous Administration of Treasonous President Biden.

I am not sure that the American People would agree to give all Illegals your idea of Due Process; however, if the trade off was the prosecution of the entirety of those responsible within the Idiot President's Administration for tens of millions of Illegals allowed to enter this Constitutional Republic, aided and abetted by these Non Patriot Bastards, the American People may consider differently.

I would agree with that tradeoff. That would set a fine example for the Non Patriot Left to understand going forward what will come of their extra illegal, and inarguable non patriot actions.

Concerned Taxpayer: I have NOT voted once in the affirmative on the myriad votes to originate and construct this "boondoggle," except to allow the trade for land to save the Beaufort County taxpayers $500,000.00, which was summarily voted down by the Center Left Coalition, those who always prefer to soak the Beaufort County taxpayer whenever possible, while swapping votes to share power.

My conditional vote at this point would not mean much; however, change in leadership is necessary at this time in so many points of origin here in Beaufort County.

Nohate: American Citizens have due process; Illegals, understandably, have less in many instances, such as being deported under a government of patriots; much unlike the traitorous non patriot government of the former Idiot President, who, acting as the Traitor-in-Chief, in the Battle of the Border(s) Invasion of 2021 to 2025.

John Valley: The money will run out; it is running out now: $10,500,00 so far for an unneeded school; $5,000,000.00 for special projects, at the whim of the Center Left Coalition, in just one year.

The money will not last forever ... Not unless the Center Left Coalition raises taxes on the People.

To the Public at Large: Watch the Center Left Coalition closely to see how and when they waste your treasured tax dollars here in a Revaluation Year.

Concerned Taxpayer: I agree. To throw 53,000,000.00 at one unneeded school is unconscionable. I am sure that money would have been around later when we really needed it.

When it is time for those necessary improvements to occur, I predict there will be NO "gambl'n' money."
Commented: Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025 @ 10:56 am By: Stan Deatherage
Gary: The new school is not needed, plus, there is no savings on inflation (it will be at least 10 years before a school building costs this much again at 383.00 per square foot, probably longer); additionally, any money needed for other school improvements, from the so-called education lottery, is gone because of this one stupendous not necessary expenditure.

Also, this is NOT a "Conservative project," it is a dumb project. Regarding the "future demand," there is currently about 2,000 students less students in the Beaufort County Schools than when I first became a commissioner, and many more of those are Illegals.

Yes, I am far sighted when it comes to governing, but my big experience has its consequences.
Commented: Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025 @ 8:50 am By: Stan Deatherage
Gary: The essential key to making that whole "property tax limitation" work is locating and cutting "waste, fraud and abuse" here in Beaufort County. The public schools are making terrible decisions, which are costing way too much money to educate children in an environment where they are losing students, ergo, "waste, fraud and abuse."

This is a time when management is most important, because when one governs as a body politic of the State of North Carolina, as is the county commissioners, it eventually comes down to the math and the management, accordingly, this necessary tandem is failing on the school board, and with the Center Left Coalition - those who swap votes to share power - it often unrealized on the Board of Beaufort County Commissioners.
Commented: Monday, April 21st, 2025 @ 3:08 pm By: Stan Deatherage
Gary: If the The Hood does not mention you in an article, you would be wise to back out of any argument with the venerable commissioner.

The school board, in toto, is having a most difficult time making sense of things, and from a governing sense, they best start finding some footing real fast.

From a political sense, the sentiment in the county at large is not good.

Gary, you don't need to die on that same political hill along with the those school board members that keep making these huge governing mistakes, which makes a good many of them resemble complete amateurs.

One more thing Gary: The matching portion on the school that we do not need, built on the lowest point of the land, is 10,500,000.00 ... so far.
